DESCRIPTION:Tracy Bonham is a twice Grammy-nominated singer-songwriter\, violinist\, and classically trained multi-instrumentalist whose fearless artistry has spanned three decades. Born in Eugene\, Oregon\, and trained at Berklee College of Music in Boston and USC in violin\, Bonham burst onto the alternative rock scene in 1996 with her debut album The Burdens of Being Upright\, which earned her two Grammy nominations\, an MTV Video Award Nomination\, went gold in the US\, Australia\, and Canada\, and landed her on the cover of magazines and in heavy rotation on MTV and VH1. Her breakthrough hit “Mother\, Mother” topped the Billboard Alternative Airplay chart and became an anthem for a generation of women who refused to be silenced. It would hold the record as the last song by a solo female artist to top that chart for seventeen years\, until Lorde’s “Royals” came along in 2013. \nMTV first called her an “angry young woman\,” and then Howard Stern reinforced the label in a memorable interview. The moniker followed her through much of her early career. What the world didn’t yet understand was that her fire wasn’t anger for its own sake. It was truth-telling. It was the sound of a woman refusing to shrink. \nThe years that followed proved just how wide her world was. Bonham performed on the mainstage at Lilith Fair for two years running\, in 1997 and 1998\, toured with Ben Folds\, and served as a featured vocalist and violinist in two Blue Man Group arena tours in 2003 and 2006. She shared stages with rock royalty\, performing alongside Robert Plant and Jimmy Page\, appeared as a featured artist on an Aerosmith album\, and performed in the celebrated Paul McCartney tribute concert in Copenhagen with Danish pop star\, Tim Christensen\, and American singer-songwriter Mike Viola. She brought her music to television audiences through appearances on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno\, Late Night with Conan O’Brien\, and The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson. \nHer music found its way into the cultural fabric in ways that extended far beyond concert stages. Her song “Just Perfect” was featured on the soundtrack to Bridget Jones’s Diary (2001)\, and her music appeared in the cult classic film Grosse Pointe Blank. On television\, her work was heard in Daria (MTV)\, Malcolm in the Middle\, Grey’s Anatomy\, The L Word\, and Weeds. Most recently\, her signature song “Mother\, Mother” was introduced to a whole new generation when it was featured in the hit series Yellowjackets. \nAcross eight studio albums\, Bonham has continually revealed new dimensions of her artistry\, from alternative rock to jazz-\ninflected pop to lush classical orchestration. In 2017\, her album Modern Burdens\, a bold collaborative project featuring a chorus of strong female voices\, made Rolling Stone’s Top 50 Albums of the year. \nHer 2025 album Sky Too Wide\, co-produced with Rene Hart\, is perhaps her most personal work yet\, born out of extraordinary circumstances. After beginning to develop the material in collaboration with the Eugene Ballet and resident choreographer\nSuzanne Haag\, Bonham received a breast cancer diagnosis in January 2024. She underwent surgery in March\, and just one month later\, took the stage with the Eugene Ballet for two nights at the Hult Center for the Performing Arts. The album\, already conceived as a meditation on resilience and perseverance following a difficult period that included a divorce during the pandemic\, took on an even deeper meaning. Released on June 6\, 2025\, it earned some of the best reviews of her career. \nBeyond recordings\, Bonham has continually pushed the boundaries of what it means to be a working artist. Her music has been featured in art gallery installations. She performed at Lincoln Center as part of the Singer Outsiders series\, and joined Belly for their New York show at Sony Hall. She celebrated the release of Sky Too Wide with an unforgettable evening at Joe’s Pub in New York City\, joined by her longtime friend and comedian-musician Fred Armisen. And she has shared stages with fellow icons of the nineties\, including members of the Go-Go’s and the Bangles\, at benefit performances including the Freezing Man epilepsy research benefit. \nBonham is also the founder of Melodeon Music House\, a music education project combining original material with curriculum inspired by Schoolhouse Rock\, The Electric Company\, and Sesame Street\, aimed at young music enthusiasts and continues her lifelong commitment to music education. \nNow\, as she approaches the thirtieth anniversary of The Burdens of Being Upright\, Bonham has returned to Boston\, where her musical journey began\, for a spring residency at the Burren. The shows are all ages by design\, a deliberate invitation for young women to come and hear what it sounds like when a woman fully steps into her own power. A portion of proceeds benefits Women’s March and BraveWomen.us\, organizations dedicated to amplifying women’s voices and pushing for social change. Cherry Ridley\, Lady Nikki Humphrey\, Teresca Showell\, and national recording artists; Quan Howell\, Nia Allen\, Zacardi Cortez\, Jermaine Dolly and Lisa Page-Brooks. Currently\, Lisa serves as a worship leader under the leadership of her husband\, Minister of Music\, Brian Coston at Trinity Baptist Church. \nThis monthly series is hosted and coordinated by Debra James Tucker\, who has received extensive training in jazz\, classical and gospel music. It’s what keeps the best bands afloat — song after song\, show after show\, record after record. \nMike Harmeier was still in his early 20s when he formed Mike and the Moonpies. From the start\, they were the definition of a workingman’s country band\, cutting their teeth with five-hour sets on Austin’s dancehall circuit before spreading their music to the rest of America. By the early 2020s\, they’d become global ambassadors of homegrown Texas music\, flying their flag everywhere from Abbey Road Studios (where they recorded 2019’s Cheap Silver & Solid Country Gold with help from the London Symphony Orchestra) to the Grand Ole Opry. \nThe growth was remarkable\, but all that momentum left Harmeier and his four bandmates — drummer Taylor Englert\, guitarist Catlin Rutherford\, bassist Omar Oyoque\, and steel guitarist Zachary Moulton — looking for something new. After all\, their music had decidedly changed. Why shouldn’t their name do the same? \nSilverada marks a new chapter in the band’s history. It’s not just the title of the boldest release of the group’s critically-acclaimed career; it’s also the name of the reinvigorated band itself. \n“Back in the day\, all we wanted to do was play the Broken Spoke\,” says Harmeier\, nodding to the hometown honky-tonk in Austin\, TX\, where Silverada began sowing the seeds for a sound that mixed timeless twang with modern-day dynamics. “We had different aspirations back then. We were still figuring out what kind of band we were gonna be\, and that took a lot of time and a lot of records.” \nA lot of records\, indeed. Silverada marks the group’s ninth release\, and it balances the strengths they’ve accumulated along the way — sharp\, detailed songwriting that bounces between autobiographical sketches and character studies; gorgeous swells of pedal steel that drift through the songs like weather; a rhythm section capable of country shuffles\, hard-charging rock & roll tempos\, and everything in between — with a willingness to break old rules and open new doors. “Radio Wave” is a roots-rock anthem for the highway and the heartland\, peppered with Springsteen-worthy hooks and War On Drugs-inspired atmospherics. “Eagle Rare” launches the band into outer space during its explosive middle section\, which the band improvised in the recording studio. “Stay By My Side” showcases Silverada’s road-warrior credentials — the band recorded the track live during a tour across the American Southeast\, capturing it in a single take at Capricorn Sound Studios in Macon\, Georgia — while “Wallflower” blends the organic with the otherworldly\, finding room for harmonized guitar solos\, driving disco beats\, and 808 percussion. \n“Going into the studio\, everybody in the band felt inspired to do something bigger than what they’d done before\,” Harmeier explains. “We all knew we were at a precipice\, and we wanted to jump. I brought in some songs that were metaphorical and not always straightforward\, and that showed the guys that I wanted to take this music somewhere new… so they threw their own rulebooks out the window\, too.” \nHarmeier wrote the bulk of Silverada in his backyard studio\, surrounded by dozens of books he’d picked up at a local Goodwill. “We’d been on tour for so long\, playing the same set for almost two years\, and I wanted to write something that was a departure\,” he remembers. Jeff Tweedy’s books on songwriting were a big help\, but Harmeier pushed himself to get weird\, too\, finding inspiration in everything from astronomy texts to sci-fi novels. “I would read some\, work a little bit\, read some more\, and work a little more\,” he says of the creative process. “I spent a full month in that studio\, going there every night\, making word ladders and highlighting lines and learning to free write.” \nRecorded at Yellow Dog Studios with longtime producer/collaborator Adam Odor\, Silverada propels the band forward without losing sight of their roots. “Stubborn Son” — a loving\, unsparing sketch of the family patriarch who set Harmeier’s creativity in motion — unfolds like a close cousin to Steak Night at the Prairie Rose’s title track\, laced with fiddle solos from longtime George Strait collaborator Gene Elders. “Doing It Right” channels the same throwback\, slow-dance ambiance that informed 2019’s “You Look Good in Neon.” “Load Out\,” which chronicles the grind of blue-collar jobs both on and off the road\, could’ve found a home on 2021’s One To Grow On. \nThere’s a smart sense of history here — a celebration not only of where the band is headed\, where they’ve been\, too. Even so\, Silverada doesn’t spend much time looking in the rearview mirror. Instead\, it keeps its gaze focused on the road ahead. This is a snapshot of a band in motion\, chasing down the next horizon\, writing the soundtrack to some new discovery. It’s the sound of alchemy\, of some new metal being forged. And like silver itself\, Silverada shines brightly. \n“We spent the first part of our career figuring out who we are and what we’re good at\,” says Harmeier. “Now we want to evolve not only the sound of the band\, but the dynamic of the live show\, too. We’re all lifers here. We’re in this for the long haul. Silverada is us setting the stage for the next leg of the journey.” \nWith support from Low Gap: \n \nAfter five years of steady growth behind the scenes\, Low Gap is positioned for a massive breakout in 2026. Brothers Gus and Phin Johnson spent the past year-and-a-half with their proverbial feet slammed on the gas and have hundreds of shows and a slew of singles to show for it. The duo recently released their debut album\, Geneva\, which has expanded their ever-growing audience to new heights. Gus and Phin\, known for their well-crafted songs and animated concerts\, have roots planted in Ohio and Eastern Kentucky\, which show up clearly in their music. Floyd\, a Grammy nominee in 2020\, will perform with Derek DiCenzo on guitar and bass\, and Reggie Jackson on drums. Members of the group add just the right mix of talent and experience to create the elements necessary to produce an appealing sound that goes well beyond live entertainment. \nThe passion with which Floyd plays piano\, organ and keyboards are the result of his natural ability discovered at the age of two\, his love of music\, and years of practice. Whether performing jazz or gospel\, as a soloist\, with a trio or big band\, his feel is unique and inspirational leading him to many distinguished appearances around the world. Bobby has performed extensively in the U.S.\, Canada\, Europe and Japan. Touring events include major jazz festivals\, concert halls\, and numerous night clubs with Ray Charles\, Jeff Tyzik\, The Legendary Count Basie Orchestra\, Dr. John and Byron Stripling..
