SUMMARY:Death Valley Girls & LA Witch
DESCRIPTION:Death Valley Girls \nThe group feels less like a band and more like a travelling caravan. At their core\, vocalist/multi-instrumentalist Bonnie Bloomgarden and guitarist Larry Schemel channel Death Valley Girls’ modern spin on Fun House’s sonic exorcisms\, early ZZ Top’s desert-blasted riffage\, and Sabbath’s occult menace. Their relentless touring schedule means that the remainder of the group is rounded out by whichever like-minded compatriots can get in the van. On their third album Darkness Rains\, bassist Alana Amram\, drummer Laura Harris\, and a rotating cast of guests like Shannon Lay\, The Kid (Laura Kelsey) and members of The Make Up\, The Shivas\, and Moaning help elevate the band from their rogue beginnings to a communal ritualistic musical force. On the surface level\, Death Valley Girls churn out the hypercharged\, in the red\, scuzzy rock every generation yearns for\, but there is a more subversive force percolating beneath the surface that imbues the band with an exhilarating cosmic energy. \nLA Witch \nL.A. Witch’s self-titled debut album unfurled like hazy memories of late night revelries in the city center creeping back in on a hungover Sunday morning. Guitarist/vocalist Sade Sanchez purred and crooned over jangling guitar chords\, painting pictures of urban exploits\, old American haunts\, and private escapades with a master’s austerity. Bassist Irita Pai and drummer Ellie English polished the patina of the band’s vintage sound\, adding a full-bodied thump and intoxicating swing to the album’s dusty ballads\, ominous invitations\, and sultry rock songs. The album had an air of effortlessness\, like these songs were written into the fabric of the Western landscape by some past generation and conjured into our modern world by three powerful conduits. The band readily admits that L.A. Witch was a casual affair and that the songs came together over the course of several years. That natural flow hit a snag when the band’s popularity grew and they began touring regularly\, so a new strategy became necessary for their sophomore album\, the swaggering and beguiling Play With Fire.

SUMMARY:Daniel Champagne
DESCRIPTION:The Australian singer\, songwriter and one-of-a-kind guitar virtuoso will bring his tour back to America for the first time in over two years! One reviewer recently wrote “Daniel Champagne exudes a natural ease on stage\, as he sings poignant lyrics and beautifully crafted melodies that invariably whisk the heart up with grand romanticism. Coupled with an exhilarating guitar talent that transcends mere acoustic playing to replicate a whole band\, Champagne must be seen to be believed’  \nThe story goes that the young artist first picked up his instrument of choice as a 5-year-old following in the footsteps of a musical father. He began writing songs at 12\, training classically throughout his teens and performing wherever he could\, honing his craft and developing the dynamic live show that he is renowned for today. At 18 he left school\, turned professional and hit the road without looking back. \nThe following decade saw him release 5 studio albums\, tour relentlessly around the globe with upwards of 300 shows per year\, play some of the biggest festivals under the sun and share stages with the likes of Tommy Emmanuel\, INXS\, John Butler\, Lucinda Williams\, Ani DiFranco\, Judy Collins and Rodrigo y Gabriela. \nIn early 2020 as the COVID pandemic ground all touring to a halt\, Daniel returned to Australia writing music and further honing his craft and will return to international audiences with a swag of new songs and a complete new live show. For fans of guitar\, songs or just artistic expression at it’s finest this show is a must see!

SUMMARY:From Ohio\, with Love - Concert for Ukraine with Brother Hill and Benya Stewart
DESCRIPTION:A night of grassroots fundraising\, featuring silent auctions and sales of Ukrainian goods by Bobcats (Ohio University) for Ukraine. Benefiting Ukraine First Aid and distributing desperately needed medical supplies across Ukraine. \nBrother Hill (Dayton) and Benya Stewart (Athens) are Ohio folk musicians playing a variety of original music and songs they have learned across the world. Outside of their solo releases and work with Appalachian folk quintet “Hill Spirits”\, the two have been collaborating with Ukrainian and Belarusian musicians in the Slavic-Appalachian Folk alliance “Slavalachia” since 2019\, to promote traditional folk music and international cultural solidarity. \nWhen war broke out after Russia’s invasion of Ukraine in February 2022\, they immediately began organizing benefit shows across Ohio that eventually came to raise over $40\,000 for Ukrainian organizations. This included $20\,000 worth of Advanced Bleeding Control Kits from North American Rescue which Brett and Benya hand-delivered to Ukraine in May.  These 245 desperately needed kits were immediately delivered to frontline operations across Kramatorsk and Kharkiv. \nNow the pair seek to scale up their operations to raise $100\,000 for another medical supply delivery in October\, for an armored vehicle for a friend extracting refugees from the frontlines\, and to support a refugee shelter in L’viv run by another friend of theirs. \n“Our platform is all about grassroots folk support\, people supporting people. We have personal relationships with every organization and/or individual we support\, and donated funds never go through more than two degrees of separation from source to destination. Help us continue this most important work of supporting our friends and family across Ukraine in this time of most desperate need there.” \nThank you for CD 92.9 FM for sponsoring this event! \n \nKITCHEN & BAR: \nOur full food and drink menu will be available during the show through the QR code at your table in the Music Hall. If you have General Admission tickets and would like to eat before the show we encourage you to make a reservation for our restaurant side by calling us during business hours at (614) 436-2625!

SUMMARY:Kim Richey
DESCRIPTION:Two-time Grammy-nominated Kim Richey returns to Natalie’s for a night of music not to be missed! Her new album\, Long Way Back…The Songs of Glimmer\, features 14 new renderings of her classic album from 20 years ago. Tender\, poetic and aching with life’s truths\, Kim’s songs transport you to her world\, where words paint pictures and melodies touch the soul. And then there’s her voice….pure\, arresting and honest\, it makes you take notice.  \nKim Richey is a traveler\, after all. Musically\, physically\, emotionally. Not merely restless or rootless\, it’s who she is. Willing to follow where the music leads\, she’s landed in Los Angeles\, Nashville\, London\, working with a who’s who of producers – Richard Bennett\, Hugh Padgham\, Bill Bottrell\, Angelo\, Giles Martin. She’s attracted a coterie of top-shelf genre-definers — Jason Isbell\, Trisha Yearwood\, Chuck Prophet\, My Morning Jacket’s Carl Broemel\, Wilco’s Pat Sansone – for her critically-lauded projects. She has also sung on records for Shawn Colvin\, Isbell\, and Rodney Crowell. Part of what draws them to the dusky honey of her crystalline alto is the way she writes: to and from the soul\, never flinching from the conflicts and crushing moments\, yet always finding dignity and resilience. Her arc of the human heart is true.

SUMMARY:Elf Power w/ E.R. Jurken

Notable bands associated with the collective include the Apples in Stereo\, Beulah\, Circulatory System\, the Minders\, Neutral Milk Hotel\, of Montreal\, and the Olivia Tremor Control. Although bands in Elephant Six explore many different genres\, they have a shared interest in psychedelic pop of the 1960s\, with particular influence from bands such as the Beach Boys\, the Beatles\, and the Zombies. Journalists have described Elephant Six as an important underground music movement and a key contributor to the emergence of alternative rock and indie rock in the 1990s.

SUMMARY:Angela Perley
DESCRIPTION:Angela Perley has spent the past decade onstage and\, on the road\, creating her own cosmic swirl of alt-country\, psychedelic rock\, and amplified Americana along the way. It’s a sound that’s earned the Ohio native a following both at home and abroad\, from sold-out crowds in her native Columbus — where songs like “Electric Flame” have become staples of the FM radio — to audiences in Europe\, where Perley’s debut album\, Hey Kid\, peaked at Number 6 on the EuroAmericana chart.\n\nOriginally launching her career as the frontwoman of Angela Perley and the Howlin’ Moons\, Perley has since gone solo\, funneling the sonic stomp that ran throughout 2014’s Hey Kid and 2016’s Homemade Vision into the personal\, poignant punch of solo records like 2019’s 4:30. She continues the momentum with her newest single\, “Here For You.” Written and produced by Perley\, the single serves as a love song to oneself — a personal\, guitar-driven pep talk\, delivering during a time of unprecedented challenges.\n\nLike the rest of Perley’s catalog\, “Here For You” blurs the lines between genre and geography. A highway anthem for daytime driving\, it blends southern slide guitar with midwestern grit\, glued together by the singing and sharp insights of an International Songwriting Award-winning frontwoman. The song also marks the first taste of a new album that Perley has been creating at home and at Earthwork Recording Studio. Mastered by Grammy-winning engineer Dave Collins and featuring guitar contributions from longtime collaborator Chris Connor\, the track shines new light on a musician who has spent years\, according to No Depression\, “laying down an interesting mix of folk\, Americana\, and ’60s-tinged psychedelic rock that floats seamlessly between Bob Dylan and Procol Harum\, sometimes within the same song.” \nOur full food and drink menu will be available during the show through the QR code at your table in the Music Hall. If you have General Admission tickets and would like to eat before the show we encourage you to make a reservation for our restaurant side by calling us during business hours at (614) 436-2625!
