SUMMARY:The Cordial Sins 'Small Talk' Album Release featuring North by North & Super Sport
DESCRIPTION:The Cordial Sins celebrate the release of their debut album\, Small Talk\, with a night of music and partying featuring fellow Columbus rockers Super Sport and Chicago duo North by North. \nThe Cordial Sins \n \nWebsite | Spotify | Instagram | Facebook \nThe Cordial Sins are known for their delectable meld of shoegaze\, harmonious indie rock and a snarling hint of grunge\, having shared their electrifying performance on stages with the likes of The Breeders\, Foals\, Wolf Alice and more. \nThe band\, led by co-founders Liz Fisher (vocals\, guitar\, violin\, synthesizer) and Corey Dickerson (guitar\, vocals)\, gained notable momentum in 2019 with performances at Nelsonville Music Festival \nAudiotree\, and on support tours\, along with their first label release\, the In Memory EP (Diversion Records). It was during this time that The Sins channeled moments on the road–of arresting inspiration\, dissembling emotion\, and scarce stillness–to make a grittily fizzing meld of rasping indie rock and melty shoegaze\, almost combative in its strength. \nThe Cordial Sins discovered the aforementioned stillness\, however imposed\, with the onset of COVID-19 and the shutdown that ensued. \nWhen most of their creative landscape came to a screeching halt\, the band focused their angst the only way they knew how: through writing. With what seemed like endless terrain to record\, revise\, and hone their sound\, it’s no wonder that the culmination of their efforts–a nine-song debut LP entitled Small Talk–captures the tumbling\, raw emotion of the last two years with such sincerity. \nNorth by North \n \nFormed in 2012\, North by North is the sweat-fueled rock & roll dream of two childhood friends from the south side of Chicago. Their music was forged through years of teen angst\, twenty-something alienation and a profound belief that rock music can be genuinely clever and inventive. It’s a sound glued together by melodic hooks\, soaring vocals\, crushing guitar\, bombastic drums and the kind of untethered energy that has won crowds over hundreds of shows and dozens of festivals across three countries.\nTo call Nate Girard (guitar\, vocals) and Kendra Blank (drums) veterans of the road would be a massive understatement. They have toured full-time since 2016 and have played over 650 shows throughout the US\, Canada and UK. \nSuper Sport \n \nSuper Sport plays instrumental tracks under 3 minutes long. They’ve played tens of stages in central Ohio since forming in 2021. \nFood & Bar: Our full food and drink menu will be available before and during the show. If you have Standing General Admission tickets\, a limited menu of pizza and fries will be available to order from the bar. If you would like to eat before the show we encourage you to make a dinner reservation by clicking the Resy button below. \nBook your Natalie’s Grandview reservation on Resy \n\n \n

SUMMARY:October Ember
DESCRIPTION:Natalie’s Grandview presents October Ember on Charlie’s Stage. Sometimes playful\, sometimes poignant\, October Ember is comprised of Jennifer Dutiel and Kevin Holland\, a multi-instrumentalist couple with a penchant for the quirky and the beautiful. They will be joined by the madly talented Troy Kunkler on drums. A cross-pollination of folk\, indie lounge\, Euro Cafe\, art pop\, and punk cabaret\, their exploration of odd time signatures\, neo-minimalist pulses\, ethereal timbres\, and vast dynamic spectra transmutes ontology into sound. With the wisps of softened reeds\, dreamy guitars\, and intricate percussion\, they paint an aural tapestry for the film of existence.   \nOctober Ember formed in 2017 and launched their first self-titled EP that same year. They were featured on the Emmy-award winning television show Broad & High after their 2019 Tiny Desk Contest video submission for the song “Waves” attracted the attention of the show’s producers. They release new music regularly and perform frequently across central Ohio. Since 2021\, they’ve been livestreaming multiple times per week on Twitch\, where they’ve built a global audience and community. \nRESERVATIONS: Reservations are strongly encouraged for our free Happy Hour Shows!

SUMMARY:Trad Nua Folk Club Night: Darby's Slashers
DESCRIPTION:Natalie’s Grandview presents the Trad Nua Folk Club Night sponsored by the Dublin Irish Celebration\, featuring Darby’s Slashers on Charlie’s Stage. As a companion to the popular Trad Nua Celtic Concert Series at Natalie’s\, Trad Nua Folk Club Night strives to create an evening of Irish and Celtic music in a casual\, “folk club vibe” setting.  Hosted and anchored by acclaimed Irish musicians Mick Broderick and Randy Clepper\, Folk Club Night will feature a rotating lineup including some of the finest players and singers in the Midwest as well as occasional traveling musicians from Ireland. \n“In a pub they call Dick Darby’s”\, from a well-known Planxty song\, the Darby Slashers take their name.  The craic will be ninety when Phil and Josh Franck\, the fiddle and accordion playing father-and-son duo from the popular Columbus-based Irish band the Drowsy Lads\, join the Trad Nua bouzoukists Mick Broderick and Randy Clepper to recreate a grand night of tunes and songs from a Rambling House performance a few years ago.  All are multi-instrumentalists as well\, so expect lots of tuning only partially obscured by witty banter\, but most of all get ready for a fun evening of lively Irish dance tunes and rich songs. \nThe Trad Nua Celtic Series at Natalie’s is hosted by acclaimed Irish musicians Randy Clepper and Mick Broderick. The series presents a variety of traditional Irish and Celtic acts often juxtaposing old styles with new influences\, local and international artists\, and featuring traditional instruments. \nFood & Bar: Our full food and drink menu will be available before and during the show.

SUMMARY:Parker Millsap - SOLD OUT!
DESCRIPTION:The fifth album from Oklahoma-bred singer/songwriter Parker Millsap\, Be Here Instead emerged from a wild alchemy of instinct\, ingenuity\, and joyfully determined rule-breaking. In a departure from the guitar-and-notebook-based approach to songwriting that shaped his earlier work\, the Nashville-based artist followed his curiosity to countless other modes of expression\, experimenting with everything from piano to effects pedals to old-school drum machines (a fascination partly inspired by the early-’70s innovations of Sly Stone and J.J. Cale). As those explorations deepened and broadened his musical vision\, Millsap soon arrived at a body of work touched with both unbridled imagination and lucid insight into the search for presence in a chaotic world.\n\nProduced by John Agnello (Kurt Vile\, Sonic Youth\, Waxahatchee) and mainly recorded live with Millsap’s full band\, Be Here Instead marks a stylistic shift from the gritty and high-energy folk of his previous output\, including 2018’s acclaimed Other Arrangements and 2016’s The Very Last Day (an Americana Music Association Awards nominee for Album of the Year). With its adventurous yet immaculately detailed sonic palette\, the album warps genres to glorious effect\, at one point offering up what Millsap aptly refers to as a “disco-Americana showtune.” In another creative breakthrough\, Be Here Instead forgoes the character-driven storytelling of his past in favor of a more introspective and endlessly revelatory form of lyricism\, an element he traces back to the charmed nature of his songwriting process. “Because the lyrics were appearing seemingly out of nowhere and with no prior intent\, some of them started to feel like transmissions from my subconscious\, rather than the preconceived linear stories or waking thoughts of my earlier songs\,” says Millsap. “They feel like words I needed to hear from myself\, and not just things I wanted to say to someone else.” \nOn “The Real Thing”—the luminous lead single to Be Here Instead—Millsap presents a brilliant introduction to the album’s kaleidoscopic sound\, merging the song’s cascading guitar lines and potent grooves with a tender statement of devotion (e.g.\, “I been through your roses\, honey/I don’t mind the thorns”). Sparked from an experiment in open tuning and featuring guest vocals from Erin Rae\, the track gracefully transforms a moment of private longing into a bit of prescient commentary. “I wrote ‘The Real Thing’ when I was touring and missing my wife\, and hating how being on FaceTime doesn’t feel anything like being in the same room\,” says Millsap. “But then as 2020 happened\, the lyrics grew new teeth—now it’s much more of a reflection of how hard it is to experience any spontaneous interaction when everything happens on livestreams and Zoom.” \n\n\nFood & Bar: Our full food and drink menu will be available before and during the show.

SUMMARY:Rod Picott - CANCELED
DESCRIPTION:Due to circumstances beyond our control\, this event is canceled and will be rescheduled at a later date. Refunds will be issued and all ticket holders have been contacted. \nRod Picott is the songs he sings. Since before Woody Guthrie songwriters have soaked their public image in sepia tones singing about the working life but Picott bears the scars of actually living the blue collar life.  \nRod Picott has released thirteen albums over the last twenty years and at the age of fifty-seven his engine is still running strong. Picott\, a former construction worker\, traded his hammer for a guitar and never looked into the rear-view mirror. Picott has written two poetry collections God In His Slippers and Murmuration (Mezcalita Press). His book of short stories titled Out Past The Wires is published by Working Title Farm. Rod Picott was born in New Hampshire\, raised in Maine and has lived in Nashville Tennessee for twenty-five years. He is unnaturally prolific and released four albums in the last three years to rave reviews. \nPicott has had songs placed in television and film projects including The FX series Justified and the Michael Douglas film Solitary Man. His song “Circus Girl” was featured in the PBS documentary Circus. He has toured as the opening act for Alison Krauss & Union Station and won the song of the year award at The Austin Music Awards for his song “Broke Down” co-written with Slaid Cleaves. \n Rod just released his fourteenth album titled Paper Hearts & Broken Arrows. It is a collection of some of the strongest songs Picott has put to tape\, ranging from a heartbreaking narrative of boxer Sonny Liston’s tragic life to a full-throated and rocking declaration of loyalty. The album was produced by noted producer/ videographer Neilson Hubbard (John Prine\, Lucinda Williams\, Orphan Brigade).  \n“Great writing is all about story\, and Rod is damn good at story.” – Mary Gauthier \n“Mesmerizing” – RollingStone.com  \nFood & Bar: Our full food and drink menu will be available before and during the show.

SUMMARY:The Talbott Brothers w/ Fox & Bones
DESCRIPTION:The Talbott Brothers were born and raised in Imperial\, Nebraska\, a rural midwest town consisting of two thousand people. Siblings Nick and Ty started writing songs at a young age after discovering their dad’s old guitar and vinyl collection. Their song ‘We Got Love’ (2017) brought them national attention as they toured across the US in an old van they found on Craigslist. Their albums ‘Ghost Talker’ (2019) and ‘Letters’ (2022) garnered attention from ‘Rolling Stone’ and ‘Billboard’ calling it “cinematic” with “captivating blood harmonies.” \nThey resided at a studio in the woods living in an airstream and sprinter van in their mom’s birthplace of Portland\, Oregon while recording their record ‘Letters’ before relocating to Nashville\, Tennessee. Their acoustic EP\, ‘Stripped from Studio Spacecamp’ features acoustic renditions hand selected from ‘Letters’ and a cover of Kings of Leon’s ‘Beautiful War.’ The duo is embarking on a spring tour with acoustic guitars\, piano and an electric guitar in select cities. \nFox & Bones \n \nScott Gilmore and Sarah Vitort are Fox and Bones—energetic offbeat folksters with a retro pop-rock bent who have been setting the Pacific Northwest alight with a handclapping\, foot-stomping good time since 2016. In the blink since their debut\, the duo has brought their indubitable Americana polish to stages shared with the likes of ZZ Ward\,  The Dead South\, Rayland Baxter and Horse Feathers among others. \nAt Fox and Bones’ core is an unrelenting backbone that represents honest-to-goodness blue-collar dreams\, wrapped in the delectable shine of a duo with a combined 20+ years of songwriting experience. They’re to Lake Street Dive\, Nathaniel Rateliff\, and Johnnyswim as a relatable\, soul-stirring\, retro-tinged folk-rock outfit that knows how to shatter a crowd’s hearts and put them back together all in the same utterance. \nLighthearted\, honest stage antics and storytelling have made Fox and Bones a memorable act at each of the hundreds of shows they’ve played around the globe\, taking a page from any great performers’ playbook and making their audience family over the course of one shared evening. Their hardworking artistic output has earned them second place in the International Acoustic Music Awards for their song “Houses of Sand”\, amongst other accolades. They’ve also founded Portland’s Folk Festival: an annual\, three-night celebration of folk and roots music at the iconic Crystal Ballroom. \nScott’s powerhouse grit and Sarah’s resonant tone combine with A-grade songwriting chops to create accessible\, relatable\, and often heart-rending folk-rock music. Anyone can relate and everyone’s invited. So\, when their name lights up on your local venue’s marquee\, make sure to swing on by. \nFood & Bar: A limited food menu and full drink menu will be available before and during the show.

SUMMARY:An Evening with Grammy Nominee Guy Davis
DESCRIPTION:Guy Davis is a two time Grammy nominee for Best Traditional Blues\, a musician\, Actor\, Author\, and Songwriter. Guy uses a blend of roots\, blues\, folk\, rock\, rap\, spoken word\, and world music to comment on and address the frustrations of social injustice\, touching topics of politics\, historical events\, and common life struggles. His background in theater is pronounced through the lyrical storytelling of songs “God’s Gonna Make Things Over” about the 1921 Tulsa Race Massacre\, “Welcome to My World”\, and “Got Your Letter In My Pocket”. His storytelling is painful\, deep\, and real\, an earthy contrast to modern-day commercial music\, meant to create thought underlined by gentle tones from his guitar or banjo fingerpicking. \nA self-taught “Renaissance Man”\, he first heard the banjo at a summer camp run by John Seeger\, the brother of the American Folk Musician\, Pete Seeger. \nFood & Bar: Our full food and drink menu will be available before and during the show.

SUMMARY:Peter Case with Ben de la Cour
DESCRIPTION:“I try to take things I love and use them in a new way\,” said triple Grammy-nominated singer-songwriter Peter Case of his 16th solo album Doctor Moan. Case brings his considerable songwriting ability to an 11-song collection\, largely performed on piano\, including his first solo recorded instrumental. Released by Sunset Blvd Records on March 31\, Case’s piano-based songs are emotionally\, sonically and stylistically rich. \nAs a founding member of the early punk era trio The Nerves\, in 1977 Case toured the nation sharing bills with the Ramones\, Mink DeVille\, Pere Ubu\, and Devo. The Nerves single “Hanging on the Telephone\,” was covered by Blondie.  In 1979\, Case formed the Plimsouls\, a record-breaking live act in California\, recording albums for Planet/Elektra and Geffen. Their independent single\, “A Million Miles Away\,” entered the Billboard charts and remains a garage rock standard\, performed by bands around the world. The band performed in the cult classic film Valley Girl and the Nerves and Plimsouls timeless teenage rock ‘n’ roll continues to appeal to fans of each new generation. \nAfter the Plimsouls\, Case rediscovered his musical roots on his self-titled solo debut\, produced by T Bone Burnett. The New York Times declared Peter Case the best album of 1986. It earned a five-star Rolling Stone review and a Grammy nomination. As one of the first songwriters of his generation to turn from rock music toward an acoustic sound\, Case also helped usher in what became known as Americana music. \nWith opener Ben de la Cour… \nThere are singer songwriters\, and there are troubadours. Singer songwriters are sensitive\, polished souls\, sharing their journal entries with the world\, whereas troubadours do their best just to stay out of jail. In the wake of Ben de la Cour’s astonishing new record\, Shadow Land\, you can add his name to the top of the list of younger troubadours to whom this ever so occasionally poisoned chalice is being passed. \nShadow Land shimmers. Its both terrifying and soothing\, suffused with honesty\, craft and a rare soul baring fearlessness but with enough surprises to keep the listener guessing. It gets down and dirty with electric guitar but also features Bens diffident fingerpicking in quieter moments. Ultimately\, it is a darkly beautiful meditation on what it means to be human. Bens voice renders raw emotion with authority as he recounts tales of suspicious characters\, lost love\, murder\, bank robbers\, suicide and mental illness against a backdrop of a dark and haunted America. \nBen de la Cour’s music has been featured on SiriusXM Outlaw Country\, BBC Radio\, Paste Magazine and NPR while receiving high praise from American Songwriter\, Maverick Magazine\, No Depression\,Twangville and Dusted Magazine amongst others. He is a former Kerrville New Folk Winner and currently spends over a hundred days a year on the road touring the U.S\, Canada\, Europe and Australia. \nFood & Bar: Our full food and drink menu will be available before and during the show.

Sometimes playful\, sometimes poignant\, October Ember is comprised of Jennifer Dutiel and Kevin Holland\, a multi-instrumentalist couple with a penchant for the quirky and the beautiful. SUMMARY:Tim O’Brien with Jan Fabricius
DESCRIPTION:Grammy winning singer songwriter and multi- instrumentalist Tim O’Brien grew up singing in church and in school. Tim started touring nationally in 1978 with Colorado bluegrass band Hot Rize\, and his songs “Walk the Way the Wind Blows” and “Untold Stories” were bluegrass hits for Hot Rize\, and country hits for Kathy Mattea. Soon more artists like Nickel Creek\, Garth Brooks\, and The Dixie Chicks covered his songs. Over the years\, Tim has collaborated with his sister Mollie O’Brien\, songwriter Darrell Scott\, and noted old time musician Dirk Powell\, as well as with Steve Earle\, Mark Knopfler\, Dan Auerbach and Sturgill Simpson.  \nLiving in Nashville since 1996\, O’Brien’s skills on guitar\, mandolin\, fiddle\, and banjo make him an in-demand session player. The International Bluegrass Music Association awarded him song of the year in 2006 and named him best male vocalist in 1993 and 2006.  He was inducted into the West Virginia Music Hall of Fame in 2013.  Notable O’Brien recordings include the bluegrass Dylan covers of “Red On Blonde”\, the Celtic-Appalachian fusion of “The Crossing”\, and the Grammy winning folk of “Fiddler’s Green”. His duet recording “Real Time” with Darrell Scott is a cult favorite\, and he won a bluegrass Grammy as part of “The Earls Of Leicester”. His 2017 release “Where the River Meets the Road” paid tribute to the music of his native West Virginia. O’Brien formed his own record label\, Howdy Skies Records\, in 1999\, and launched the digital download label Short Order Sessions (SOS) with his partner Jan Fabricius in 2015. \nHis latest release “He Walked On” features eight new originals and five covers from R.B. Morris\, Bill Caswell\, Dale Keys\, Yip Harburg\, and mentor J.D. Hutchison. A rhythm section including drummer Pete Abbott and long-time bassist Mike Bub underpins contributions from fiddlers Shad Cobb and Justin Moses\, bassist Edgar Mayer\, gospel singer Odessa Settles\, guitarist Bo Ramsey\, keyboard player Mike Rojas\, as well as vocals and mandolin from Jan Fabricius. Historical and socially conscious themes weave their way through songs about ordinary and not so ordinary people just trying to “keep it between the ditches”.  \nFood & Bar: Our full food and drink menu will be available before and during the show.

SUMMARY:Anana Kaye
DESCRIPTION:Anana Kaye is a Nashville based Indie Alt-Americana Duo. Hailing from Georgia\, the other one\, where Argonauts sailed to steal The Golden Fleece and where wine was invented 8000 years ago\, Anana Kaye and Irakli Gabriel and their band deliver a unique sound we rarely experience in such potent doses today. With influences including Kate Bush\, Nick Cave\, Leonard Cohen\, and David Bowie their music is a genre bending musical experience akin to twisting kaleidoscope. \n2021 marked the release of their collaboration with the late Americana great David Olney\, “Whispers And Sighs” which was written and recorded by Irakli\, Anana and David in Nashville. The album has been met with widespread acclaim and featured in publications worldwide. \n“Together\, they create a dreamy song cycle that reveals intimate self-portraits\, myths\, and existential tales exposing the various crutches we use to cope with our own impermanence. It’s as though we are hovering\, riding a magic carpet that eloquently transcends time and space.” \nNO DEPRESSION \n“Unique\, sonic landscape that blends the haunting sensuality of European music with the intimacy of Americana” \nMUSIC ROW MAGAZINE \nFood & Bar: Our full food and drink menu will be available before and during the show.

SUMMARY:Goldpine
DESCRIPTION:Americana act Goldpine was built by married couple Benjamin and Kassie Wilson (formerly called “My One and Only”). From festivals like 30A Songwriting Festival and Bristol Rhythm & Roots Reunion to listening rooms throughout the United States\, Goldpine has been offering their own brand of raw Americana to audiences large and small. Finalists in the Kerrville Folk Fest 2021 New Folk Competition\, the duo’s bold harmonies are clearly a channel for their highly charged songwriting. Exposing the pains of severed relationships and unearthing the pursuits of love and purpose\, Goldpine is cathartic\, moody\, raucous\, and relevant all wrapped into one. Touring since 2015\, they have been lessening the gap between music and the audience by disclosing their stories behind the lyrics at every venue along the way.  \nGoldpine’s debut album will be available mid-2022.   \n“…a melding of raw acoustic music with meaningful lyrics that paint a picture of their and our journey.” \n— ERIC DAHL\, HOST OF FOX 17 ROCK & REVIEW RADIO & TV \n“I love these guys…their never-ending onslaught of bold harmony is undeniable.” \n— ANDRIJA TOKIC (ALABAMA SHAKES)\, GRAMMY AWARD-NOMINATED PRODUCER. \nFood & Bar: Our full food and drink menu will be available before and during the show.
