With 4 bullies\, 4 deaths (3 of them murders)\, 3 moms\, 2 accidents\, 2 Black people\, 2 dogs\, 1 dog ball\,\, and 1 missed flight thanks to gas station sushi\, this album benefits from the gifts of time and experience honing songwriting skills that put this most vital of acoustic storytellers at the top of the game. \nOh\, and Management wants to make sure to tell you that this is the 14th release for this acoustic stalwart. \nOne of the originators of the finally recognized R&B/Folk/Jazz crossover-sub-genre\, Vance was born and raised in the Philadelphia area. Starting out hoping to be an R&B and jazz singer once at college\, there he discovered his affinity for the storytelling sensibilities of the acoustic singer-songwriter thing. Word spread like wildfire about Gilbert’s stage-owning singing and playing\, and Shawn Colvin invited him to be special guest on her 1992 Fat City tour where he took much of America by storm and by surprise. “With the voice of an angel\, the wit of a devil\, and the guitar playing of a god..” wrote the Fort Worth Star-Telegram. \nNoted not only for being the ever consummate performer\, Gilbert has recorded 13 albums\, including 5 for Philo/Rounder Records. Along with being opener of choice for artists as varied as Arlo Guthrie\, Anita Baker\, The Milk Carton Kids\, and Southside Johnny\, the mid 2000’s found Gilbert opening 150+ shows for comedian George Carlin. \nGilbert has also been a prominent presence at some of the world’s most prestigious gatherings and halls\, among them the Newport\, Winnipeg\, Rocky Mountain\, Calgary\, Ottawa\, and Falcon Ridge Folk festivals\, the Kate Wolf Music Festival\, and Australia’s Woodford Folk and Mullum Music Festivals\, Mountain Stage\, Boston’s Symphony Hall\, Nashville’s Lyman Auditorium\, The Barns at Wolftrap\, and a private party for his veterinarian where there was terrific lo-mein. \nMost recently he’s been the opener of choice for Mad About You/Stranger Things star Paul Reiser’s stand-up shows for the last 7 years\, along with his own busy acoustic music touring schedule. That current schedule includes Vance’sMondayNightAcousticPajamaParty on YouTube. Having started the first week of the pandemic in 2020\, Vance has played a live\, themed\, weekly 90 minute mixed bag of originals and cover tunes to a rotating following of about 200 folks. 10 to 20% of his weekly tip jar is donated to a local 501(c)3 of his choice. At the time of this writing\, having done 215 of these Pajama Parties has become newsworthy in itself\, more so because he just forgot to stop doing them. \nConsidered by many to be an integral part of the national folk scene\, his previous record “Good Good Man” features an eclectic roster of musical types including rocker Mike Posner\, world renown Celtic harpist Aine Minough\, bluesman Chris Smither\, and Al Green’s organist Stacey Wade. \nGilbert runs 3 to 4 miles ever so slowly 5 days a week to stay sharp for the road and does historical aviation research and model building just for great nerdy fun. \nHe even has a tune on a Grammy Nominated children’s album. DESCRIPTION:Tim Easton is the youngest of seven children\, born in Upstate NY\, raised in Tokyo\, Japan and Akron\, OH\, by a Canadian Mother and American Father. Influenced by a combination of pop icons and bluegrass/folk legends from his brother’s and sister’s vinyl collections\, Easton found himself busking the streets of Europe on and off for seven years after graduating from The Ohio State University\, returning to the USA to record his first solo album in Nashville. He signed with EMI Publishing in 1999\, relocated to Los Angeles\, performed at songwriter hubs like Largo\, and signed a recording contract with New West Records. His first release for the label was 2001’s The Truth About Us\, featuring three members of WILCO as the backing band. Next came “Break Your Mother’s Heart\,” garnering 4 stars in the print version of Rolling Stone and heralding his songwriting as having a “novelist’s sense of humanity.”  \nWorld tours have continued for over twenty years. Several albums have been released after a relocation from Joshua Tree to Nashville where he signed with Thirty Tigers and Oklahoma’s BLACK MESA RECORDS. His most recent album\, “FIND YOUR WAY\,” was recorded entirely in Canada. 130 original songs are on his Spotify page and four books of poetry/essays plus full discography are available at TimEaston.com \nEaston is releasing a limited edition vinyl of his long dormant alter-ego DARK WATSON in the Spring of 2025.  In the Spring of 2026 the 14th Tim Easton solo album\, entitled “fIREHORSE\,” will be released. DESCRIPTION:Just Another Mojo (JAM)\, winner of the 2025 Columbus Blues Challenge\, is headed to Memphis in January for the International Blues Challenge and is doing this special fundraiser show to help cover expenses!  Bella Gresham on vocals\, Aiden Cash on guitar\, Jackson McCargish on drums and Tyler Reed on bass have been playing around town and with Columbus greats Shaun Booker\, Deuce n’ a Quarter\, FunkCity Showband and lots more! \n JAM started playing together as teenagers at Fort Hayes career center and formed Just Another Mojo to participate in the International Blues Challenge Youth Showcase in Memphis in 2023 as a ten-piece band.  JAM is now a solid 4-piece powerhouse focused on writing their own original music who will complete in Memphis January 2026 on the International Stage!  Join us as we create some vibe and video at Ohio’s best venue. \nThe Columbus Blues Alliance (CBA) is a non-profit organization founded to help preserve and nurture blues music and is an affiliate of the Blues Foundation in Memphis. They are an ALL-volunteer corporation depending on the generosity and charity of members to donate their time and energy towards providing programs to support musicians. \nhttps://columbusblues.com \nFood & Bar: Our full food and drink menu will be available before and during the show. \nTIPS and RESERVATIONS are strongly encouraged for our FREE Happening Hour Shows! \n
