SUMMARY:Gospel Soul Series: Quan Howell (Postponed)
DESCRIPTION:This show has been postponed to a later date TBD\, and refunds will be issued to ticket holders. We regret any inconvenience. \nNatalie’s Grandview presents a new Gospel Soul Series\, hosted and coordinated by Debra James Tucker. This show features the talents of the outstanding vocalist/actor/leader Quan Howell. Quan spent his early years singing at local churches and with two local groups ‘The James Cleveland Youth Chapter’ and ‘The Allen Family.’ He received his first professional break-in 1995 as the new lead singer with the group\, ‘Sounds of Blackness’\, and they recorded several hit songs\, which opened up many opportunities for him to record and do background work with Ann Nesby\, Rod Stewart\, Johnny Gill\, New Edition\, Salt ‘n’ Pepa\, Kirk Franklin\, Tamela Mann\, and many other famous artists. Also\, he had the pleasure of recording movie soundtracks for\, ‘How Stella Got Her Groove Back\,’ ‘Down in the Delta\,’ ‘The Apostle’ and for Andrew Lloyd Weber and Walt Disney. \nIn the late 1990s\, Quan decided to pursue his other passion\, the theater. Well known author\, director\, and producer Tyler Perry gave Quan his first opportunity to play the character\, ‘Rev. Lewis’ in Perry’s first play\, ‘I Know I’ve Been Changed.’ Quan continued to play in Perry’s hit plays\, ‘I Can Do Bad All by Myself’ and ‘Madea’s Family Reunion. \nFollowing a three year break from the entertainment business and a recommitment of his life to the Lord\, Quan became more involved in his local assembly and became the Praise Leader for New Covenant Believers’ Church. He has made numerous television appearances on shows such as BET’s Sunday Best Season 6\, Lifetime Network reality show “Preach”\, TBN’s Praise The Lord and World Harvest’s 120 Live with Pastor Rod Parsley. So many opportunities that have come and Quan still has the energy and excitement to finish what God has allowed him to do. \nThe unique sound of vocalist Debra James Tucker is a product of extensive training in jazz\, classical\, and gospel music. She is the writer/performer of the one-woman show Survival of the Boulevard Singer—winner of an Ohio Arts Council Award for Individual Excellence\, has been visiting instructor at Denison University in the history of African American Gospel Music\, and an artist in residence with a number of youth arts organizations. \nThis new ongoing series will temporarily replace the monthly Gospel Soul Brunch shows at Natalie’s Worthington\, which has been postponed due to the Covid-19 crisis.

SUMMARY:The Floorwalkers
DESCRIPTION:Growing up together in the same Cleveland suburb\, The Floorwalkers played little league baseball together as children. In high school\, they began playing music together and later moved to Columbus\, where they released a self-titled acoustic EP.  While working on a debut full-length album\, they managed to garner a strong Midwest following and released their first full-length CD “The Natural Road.”  Since then\, they have toured nationally\, and remain completely independent. \nTheir sophomore effort “Kids Are You Listening” – was an album partially funded by fans\, allowing the bands’ supporters to invest in and influence the future of the band while giving the musicians the freedom to stretch their creative legs without oversight from a record label. This great garage soul band consists of Jonathan Vernon (lead vocals)\, Ben Meinhold (bass)\, Theo Perry (lead guitar)\, Todd Hamric (keyboards)\, Aaron Bishara (drums)\, and Jesse Barr (guitar). \nFree Live Stream\nThe Floorwalkers present a live streaming concert from the stage at Natalie’s Grandview that can be viewed from our YouTube channel or our Facebook page. Order your free ticket from our ticketing link and you will receive an email confirmation with a link to the stream and a discount code to receive 20% off an online or carryout order at any Natalie’s location. SUMMARY:Phil Clark & the Truth
DESCRIPTION:Natalie’s is excited to present a brand-new group\, The Truth\, fronted by premiere area vocalist and multi-instrumentalist Phil Clark. The “son of a preacher man”\, Phil realized early on that music was\, simply put\, his calling. This time\, the group brings some of “Phil’s faves” across the rock and soul spectrum\, to Natalie’s Grandview. \nLouis Tsamous began playing the drums at age 10 and has become one of the most versatile and active musicians in America. He has toured Europe\, Asia and the Caribbean recording and performing with jazz artists Stanley Turrentine\, Etta Jones\, Jimmy McGriff\, Dr. Lonnie Smith\, David “Fathead” Newman\, Joey DeFrancesco\, and Kevin Mahogany\, among others. He has been touring and recording with jazz organ sensation Tony Monaco since 1999\, and has recently toured the US and Europe with jazz guitar legend Pat Martino. \nPhil Maneri is skilled at Electric Bass\, Guitar\, Piano\, and Trumpet. A first call live and session musician\, Phil is currently playing equally on Double Bass and Electric Bass in a myriad of projects and gigs. Over the years Phil has played in more bands and played more gigs than he can recall. Chances are if you’ve seen live music in Central Ohio in the last 30 years you’ve seen him play. \nFree Live Stream:\nPhil Clark & the Truth present a live streaming concert from the stage at Natalie’s Grandview that can be viewed from our YouTube channel or our Facebook page. SUMMARY:Hoodoo Soul Band: Natalie’s 8th Anniversary Celebration
DESCRIPTION:Hoodoo Soul will perform at the brand new Natalie’s Grandview Outdoor Pavilion to help celebrate Natalie’s 8th year Anniversary! This celebration show will include a performance of the song “With a Little Help From My Friends”\, and will feature some of the vocalists from the video\, which will be screened as a kick-off to the evening! Hoodoo Soul Band began as a side project for several seasoned veterans of the Columbus music scene who wanted an outlet to play Funk and Rhythm and Blues with a horn section. In January of 1995\, these players started a weekly residency at Oldfield’s on High (now under a new name) and it quickly became the “place to be” for Columbus\, Ohio music scene junkies. In 2008\, the group found a new home for their residency at Rumba Cafe on Summit Street and the crowd followed. \nPrimarily a cover band\, Hoodoo is known for curating a unique setlist while giving each song its own original treatment. The players effectively turn soul songs into standards which they deconstruct on the fly\, improvising new arrangements in front of the crowd\, and introducing audiences to funky\, unfamiliar gems that quickly become crowd favorites. SUMMARY:Toronzo Cannon
DESCRIPTION:We have some very exciting news!  We have moved this show outdoors to our parking lot behind Natalie’s underneath a huge pavilion. We will continue to provide socially distanced table seating and will seat you at the best possible location upon your arrival. You will still check in at our host stand and we will take you to your table. \nSince the release of his Alligator Records debut\, The Chicago Way\, contemporary blues guitarist/vocalist/songwriter (and Chicago Transit Authority bus driver) Toronzo Cannon has burst onto the international stage as one of Chicago’s – and the world’s – most acclaimed next-generation bluesmen. He’s earned his fame through the overwhelming response to his album\, the sheer force of his music\, his original songs\, and his live charisma. Since the CD’s release\, he’s played major cities all over the U.S.\, Canada\, and Europe\, delivering one hard-rocking performance after another. \nCannon’s unofficial launch from local hero to national star took place on June 13\, 2015 at the world-renowned Chicago Blues Festival\, where he performed as a festival headliner for the massive crowd. After announcing that he had just signed with Alligator Records\, he delivered a riveting set\, instantly earning tens of thousands of new fans. \nDue to COVID-19\, tables will be sold instead of individual seats\, and guests are required to wear masks except while seated at their table. \nThe venue reserves the right to move the show indoors in the event of inclement weather. \nFree Live Stream:\n\n\nToronzo Cannon presents a live streaming concert from the outdoor stage at Natalie’s Grandview that can be viewed from our Facebook page. SUMMARY:Angela Perley
DESCRIPTION:Angela Perley appears for two nights not to be missed at the new Outdoor Pavilion at Natalie’s Grandview! “Angela Perley has been gigging nonstop with her band The Howlin’ Moons since they released their debut album in 2014\, laying down an interesting mix of folk\, Americana\, and ’60s-tinged psychedelic rock that floats seamlessly between Bob Dylan and Procol Harum\, sometimes within the same song.”— No Depression \nAll of this led up to Perley’s latest LP\, ‘4:30’ (released Aug. 2\, 2019)\, her first solo effort which she co-produced with longtime guitarist and collaborator\, Chris Connor. Her third full-length record illustrates the songwriter’s knack for deft storytelling\, warm vocal layers\, and disarming melodies that beget personal growth and mobility\, surging from raw and far-sighted pathos. \nBillboard says\, “The set’s 12 songs run the gamut from psychedelic garage rock to melodic pop and heartfelt country and Americana” and Perley’s character-driven love songs on ‘4:30’ are surreal in their ability to master genre-fluidity\, with forthright storytelling\, wry lyricism and a host of dreamy instrumentation. \nPerley has opened for Willie Nelson\, Lucinda Williams\, Tyler Childers\, CAAMP\, O.A.R\, and Blues Traveller and continues her musical journey one record and show at a time. \nFree Live Strem:\n\n\nAngela Perley presents a live streaming concert from the stage at Natalie’s Grandview that can be viewed from our Facebook page. Blazing vocals\, screaming horns\, and a hard-hitting rhythm section are the hallmarks of the group’s sound. Leading the charge is the group’s vivacious singer Amber Knicole\, who has been likened to everyone from Chaka Khan to a young Sharon Jones and described as Beyonce’s wild step-sister. She is just as well known for her jazzy\, gospel-influenced vocal prowess as she is for her captivating stage performance. From Soul Train lines to hula hoop choreography\, gravity-defying backbends to near-cringe-inducing leaps off the drum riser in 6-inch heels this lady has a knack for leaving audiences enthralled. Since their inception\, MojoFlo has made a habit of constant growth and reinvention.

SUMMARY:The Drowsy Lads
DESCRIPTION:The Drowsy Lads will perform at the Outdoor Pavilion (featuring socially distanced tables) a Natalie’s Grandview location. The Lads thundered onto the Irish music scene in the US over 15 years ago and have become fan favorites at every turn. Sticking to traditional roots the Lads bring a fire and excitement that is quickly winning over audiences. With the release of their 4th album\, Everyone In\, and the notable camaraderie and genuineness that flows from their live performances\, the future continues to look bright for these Lads. Ohio brothers John and Daniel McKewen\, father and son Phil and Josh Franck\, and lifelong friend Bryan Brookes bring to the stage a concoction of “we dare you to hold still” Irish dance tunes as well as a full emotional gamut of songs and good humor. Their authentic approach and deep enjoyment of people is a refreshing surprise to both casual music-lovers and those steeped in hardcore Trad. \nBesides packing out theaters\, concert halls\, clubs\, and pubs\, the Lads are lighting up Irish festivals including Milwaukee\, Dublin\, Dayton\, Cincinnati\, Indianapolis\, and Louisville. They were also featured at Lakeside Ohio’s Chautauqua series for four years\, the beautiful Murphy theater for three\, and were guest artists with the Otterbein University Orchestra. \nEach Lad is a multi-instrumentalist\, and the combined lineup includes fiddle\, button accordion\, tenor banjo\, flute\, whistle\, guitar\, bouzouki\, Uilleann pipes\, 5-string banjo\, concertina\, and bodhran. The Lads are fond of creating their own spirited arrangements and offering occasional original compositions\, even mixing in some bits of Bluegrass or Classical. But these never get in the way of their obsession with the pure old Irish tunes\, songs\, wit\, and friendship that has defined Irish music for centuries.

SUMMARY:Lindsay Jordan and Carly Fratianne (Early Show)
DESCRIPTION:Lindsay Jordan and Carly Fratianne present an evening of music in the new Outdoor Pavilion at Natalie’s Grandview. Fratianne will kick off the evening with a solo show\, followed by Lindsay Jordan with a full band\, featuring Carly on lead guitar\, Maddy Ciampa on bass\, West Taylor on rhythm guitar\, and Paige Vandiver on drums. \nDelivered with striking conviction\, Carly Fratianne’s lyrics bow to the weight of her experience. After establishing a name for herself as lead singer and guitarist of Columbus’ own Souther in 2016\, Fratianne also formed the electro/folk trio WYD\, in which she explores a more intimate approach to songcraft\, marrying the analog with the digital under tender vocal work and calculated dynamic arrangements. For Carly\, music has always been both cause and effect\, carrying her ever deeper into the danger from which it’s never faltered as refuge. \nLindsay Jordan throws a cold glass of water over your head with her genre-bending anthems that explore the truths of her West Virginia roots with torching humor and no hint of bullshit. Her music is as brutally honest as it is hauntingly catchy\, proving she’s mastered the soul of new American folklore. Bartending since she was 15\, self-proclaimed ‘River Road Trash’\, Jordan is a natural storyteller\, whose upbeat melodies provide a searing portrait of modern Appalachia.
