This weekly series will include a special guest for each show! \nNatalie’s Grandview presents Lil’ Red & The Rooster on Charlie’s Stage. For this happening hour performance\, there will be no admission charge\, but tips are greatly appreciated. Jump-up and shake a tail feather\, or two\, ‘cause Lil’ Red & The Rooster will roll out some smooth retro modern Blues just for you. Intimately real and at times hilarious they exude a contagious charm that guarantees you’ll feel good no matter how haunting the melody or biting the message. They’re a sassy\, smokin’\, bone tremblin’ slow-burn Blues balm. \nThey recently released their new album\, “Keep On!” on Blue Heart Records. This international dynamic duo has been touring around the world together since 2010. This year they were at the prestigious Cognac Blues Passion in France\, Heritage Music Blues Festival as well as Beautiful Swamp Blues featuring Dave Specter. They appeared on Songs at the Center\, were finalists in the International Blues Challenge and can be found often at Buddy Guy’s Legends in Chicago.  \nBorn in Normandy\, France in the early 60’s\, Pascal Fouquet began studying classical guitar at eleven and discovered the Blue note a few years later. Since 1980 he’s been a professional musician and never ceases to give homage to his master teachers: B.B. King\, Albert King\, T-Bone Walker\, Kenny Burrell … and many others. A multi-award-winning guitarist he’s had the pleasure of sharing the stage with many great artists including: Diunna Greenleaf\, Dave Specter\, Mike Sanchez\, Steve Clayton\, Russell Jackson\, Candye Kane\, Alex Shultz\, Kid Ramos\, Sax Gordon\, Kenny “Blues Boss” Wayne and Sean Castello.  \nLil’ Red\, born in Columbus\, Ohio in the late 60’s\, grew up loving Hollywood movie musicals especially Bojangles\, Gene Kelly\, Louis Armstrong\, Ella Fitzgerald and the Nicolas Brothers. Rhythm and groove have always been her deep love. She studied everything in the arts: music\, dance\, acting\, writing\, painting\, martial arts and meditation. She graduated from Fort Hayes Performing Arts High School for theater\, holds a BFA in Musical Theatre from the Cincinnati Conservatory of Music and an MFA in Contemporary Performance from Naropa University.  \nThe Columbus Blues Alliance (CBA) is a non-profit organization founded to help preserve and nurture blues music and is an affiliate of the Blues Foundation in Memphis. Though classically trained\, it was during his middle school years that he discovered a deep passion for jazz. \nAfter high school\, Alex continued his education at Central State University\, where he became an active member of the CSU Chorus. With the ensemble\, he traveled across the country performing a diverse repertoire that included classical works\, Negro spirituals\, gospel\, and more. \nUpon earning his degree\, Alex joined the acclaimed Jeremy Winston Chorale\, with whom he has performed extensively both nationally and internationally. \nLocally\, Alex has graced stages throughout the region\, captivating audiences at venues such as Columbus Museum of Art\, Ginger Rabbit\, The Schottenstein Center\, and Dick’s Den\, among others.\n \nThe unique sound of vocalist Debra James Tucker is a product of extensive training in jazz\, classical and gospel music. Her new album is “Voices”\, which continues her exploration of early black church forms in contemporary contexts. Often described as twang with teeth\, Loveless has been featured everywhere from NPR to Rolling Stone to SXSW. The Blue Jays are well known at Natalie’s and in the Columbus jazz scene. Founded in 2017 by leader Alex Toth\, the band plays a wide array of genres including jazz\, funk\, pop\, R&B\, and soul. The Worst Acoustic Trio is a Columbus local band playing original folk\, rock\, country\, as well as a mashup of all three. They are among the top 15 best 4-piece trios in Central Ohio. \nAt Home By High is an organization providing practical assistance and social opportunities to older adults in the Short North\, Weinland Park\, and Milo Grogan neighborhoods. All proceeds from the event will benefit their mission and work in the community. You can also expect an auction and opportunities to contribute to our organization. SUMMARY:Peter Mulvey and Jenna Nicholls Present: Floyd Mercantile
DESCRIPTION:In April 2025\, Peter Mulvey and Jenna Nicholls\, along with guitarist Ross Bellenoit\, traveled to Floyd\, a small mountain town located in the Blue Ridge Highlands of Southwest Virginia\, for five uninterrupted days of recording. What emerged is Floyd Mercantile — a record that feels both intimate and timeless. \nThe makeshift studio was a decommissioned general store called (you guessed it!) Floyd Mercantile — a weathered wooden building standing across the road from an open pasture where cows wandered and grazed in the gentle early spring. (One cow even volunteered to be on the album cover.) Inside those old walls\, the trio recorded the album live — no isolation booths\, no heavy overdubbing — just three musicians in a room\, listening closely and letting the songs unfold in real time. \nThe sessions were recorded by Jeff Oehler and filmed in their entirety by partner Sue Bibeau and their associate Skylar Locke. Together\, Sue and Jeff comprise Beehive Pro\, an audio\, visual\, and design collective famed for their intimate recordings and thoughtfully considered visuals. They captured not just the sound\, but the atmosphere — the wood floors\, the daylight through the dusty windows\, and the creak of the porch boards could all be considered session players on this album. \nThe repertoire bridges eras. Mostly comprised of songs Peter and Jenna wrote separately\, there are a few gems from the Great American Songbook: “Skylark” (Hoagy Carmichael/Johnny Mercer)\, “Them There Eyes” (Maceo Pinkard/Doris Tauber/William Tracey)\, and “I’ll Be Seeing You” (Sammy Fain/Irving Kahal). \nThe visual and sonic tones of the project reflect the periods these songs evoke — even the newly composed tracks feel in conversation with another time. The goal was not nostalgia\, but continuity: to stand inside the lineage of American song and add something honest and present to it. \nFloyd Mercantile is not just an album. It’s a document of place. Of three musicians in a room. DESCRIPTION:The Hoodoo Soul Band began as a side project for several seasoned veterans of the Columbus music scene who wanted an outlet to play Funk and Rhythm and Blues with a horn section. Primarily a cover band\, Hoodoo is known for curating a unique set list while giving each song their own original treatment. The players effectively turn soul songs into standards which they deconstruct on the fly\, improvising new arrangements in front of the crowd\, and introducing audiences to funky\, unfamiliar gems that quickly become crowd favorites. Most of the group is still made up of the original members but new blood has been introduced over the years. At any given show the line-up may change with only the very best players in the city subbing in. DESCRIPTION:The Soul Series\, hosted by Debra James Tucker\, continues with the veteran vocalist Mary McClendon\, featuring Debra James Tucker\, Tia Harris and Vicki Saunders. They will perform a special program titled Women: Yesterday\, Today and Tomorrow\, celebrating and remembering the tradition\, culture and history of Women in music. The evening will include timeless classics\, gospel\, soul and jazz. \nMary McClendon has been on the jazz scene since graduating from Marion Franklin High School and the Columbus College of Art & Design. Her smooth vocals and scat singing have made her an audience favorite over the years. She’s shared the stage with many jazz greats\, and has performed regularly with the Columbus Jazz Orchestra\, Ballet Met\, and the Columbus Symphony. \nThis series is coordinated by Debra James Tucker\, a product of extensive training in jazz\, classical and gospel music. Her latest album is “Voices”\, which continues her exploration of early black church forms in contemporary contexts. She is the writer/performer of the one woman show Survival of the Boulevard Singer-winner of an Ohio Arts Council Award for Individual Excellence\, has been a visiting instructor at Denison University in the history of African American Gospel Music\, and an artist in residence with several youth arts organizations. \nFood & Bar: Our full food and drink menu will be available before and during the show–our kitchen will be closing at 9pm for this event.

On May 30th\, 16 artists from across Ohio and beyond take over both stages at Natalie’s Grandview for one night of John Prine done right. The Hello In There Foundation is matching donations up to $5\,000\, doubling your impact for NAICCO’s Land Back campaign. Come for the music. SUMMARY:Too Many Maneris
DESCRIPTION:Too Many Maneris is the quintessential eclectic family band. This show is a melange of music from the vast palate of Maneridom. There will be Manerriment. There will be Manerihem. Jim Maneri on Keyboards\, Phil Maneri on Bass\, and Vincent Maneri on Drums. The Maneri brothers are veterans of Columbus music. Jim is the originator of the improvisational circus Flypaper. He is currently known for his popular WCBE radio show where he is a champion of local music past and present. Phil plays with a myriad of artists and has created several original projects including the epic show The Alsatian Queen. Phil’s son Vincent has been the principal drummer in the Columbus Youth Jazz Orchestra for the last 4 years and will be a student at The Berklee College of Music in Boston starting fall of 2026.
