DESCRIPTION:David Cook (and yes\, the same David Cook who launched into stardom following his American Idol Season Seven win – breaking several Billboard chart records when 14 of his songs debuted on the Hot Digital Songs chart and 11 of his songs debuted on the Hot 100) certainly knows his way around a good song. His first album\, Analog Heart\, came out pre-Idol\, and his last album\, Digital Vein\, nicely book-ended that chapter of Cook’s career\, a chapter during which he sold more than 2 million albums (including his platinum-certified eponymous album) and\, collectively\, more than 5 million tracks (including two platinum-certified singles) worldwide. \nDavid continues to find success\, not only for himself\, but also as a writer for other artists and touring throughout the world. 2018 brought an exciting new EP from Cook – Chromance. “I was a ‘rock’ guy\, but the further away I’ve gotten from that\, the more I’ve opened up and found inspiration in the peripherals. I wouldn’t have had the courage earlier in my career\, but now I have the confidence to go after the sound I want.” A fan of both Massive Attack and Nine Inch Nails\, Cook always admired how they pushed the envelope and brought pop elements into rock music. “I used them as a bedrock for Chromance and how I wanted the record to feel.” \nIf putting out his 2018 EP wasn’t enough to keep Cook busy\, that same year he headed to the Great White Way for his Broadway debut as Charlie Price in KINKY BOOTS. “I’ve had conversations about finding creative outlets outside of being a musician\, but the timing was never right.” While Cook was excited about his first starring role\, he was also aware the message behind KINKY BOOTS was timely and\nrelevant. “I was honored to be part of the show and get to work with so many amazing people. I love the collaborative aspect of theatre too\, the idea of being part of a creative team and working it out in front of an audience each night.” \nAnother passion of Cook’s is his work in behalf of organizations such as the National Brain Tumor Society\, a Washington DC-based nonprofit that drives cutting-edge research and treatments for brain cancer and brain tumors. “I’ve been very involved with this cause and am very grateful that my career has allowed me to do that. I lost my brother Adam to a brain tumor in 2009; every year I am part of the Race for Hope-DC and\, together with my fans\, have raised over $1.5 million for brain cancer and brain tumor research through this and other fundraising projects. Far and away\, that is the proudest of all my achievements.” \nCook is well aware\, and grateful\, for the breaks American Idol has brought his way\, and for the opportunities he continues to have. He has no plans to slow it down. “I love creative endeavors. I like starting with nothing and then finishing with something that didn’t exist before. That’s my favorite thing about creating new music. I love being able to put something artistic out in the world for people to enjoy.” \nIn 2020\, David released two new singles. The first\, Reds Turn Blue\, is a nod to the manic highs (reds) and lows (blues) of anxiety\, something David has struggled to overcome since his season seven win on American Idol. As David told People.com: “This song became a therapeutic process for me\, as a way to personify my anxiety and make it something other than me — which\, in an odd way\, has helped me navigate my relationship with it.” To capture that struggle\, David worked with artist Justin A. Nixon to create a visual that was\, “sci-fi and sinister” but left open-ended to represent “that constant battle between anxiety and myself.” And the second\, Strange World\, is “my homage to this year\,” said David. “Staring out of windows at the world outside\, feeling disconnected from it\, and trying to find those\nmoments that would normally exist outside\, inside. “Both singles\, along with the driving Fire are from his EP The Looking Glass\, released in April 2021. \nIn April 2022\, David released his latest single\, “TABOS” (This’ll All Be Over Soon). DESCRIPTION:The Shootouts recently presented a sold-out hometown acoustic trio concert titled New Song Night\, during which they debuted 20 brand-new songs currently under consideration for their next album. Due to overwhelming demand\, The Shootouts are bringing this unique performance to Columbus for a special encore presentation at Natalie’s Grandview on Saturday\, July 25\, 2026. \nFormed in Akron\, Ohio\, in October 2015\, The Shootouts have grown into one of the most acclaimed roots-country bands in America\, forging a sound that Rolling Stone hailed as “perfect rustbelt country.” \nBlending honky-tonk grit with Americana storytelling\, the band released their debut album\, Quick Draw\, in 2019\, followed by Bullseye (2021)\, Stampede (2023)\, and Switchback (2025). She studied jazz vocal studies in college and began singing in church at a young age. She is inspired by r&b\, funk  and jazz and also loves incorporating pop and classical into her shows as well. \nBrianna has opened for various artists like Bruno Mars and Tony Toni Ton and can also be found singing the national anthem at various sporting events. She has headlined festivals such as CBUS soul fest and the Columbus arts fest. When not performing\, she is giving back as a registered nurse. Brianna is ecstatic to be back at Natalies for her Soul Sundays show and plans on incorporating various genres of music and intertwining it with soul. Her show will feature special guests\, Harmonic Soul. She loves to include the audience in her shows and loves to create music live with others who also love music. She hopes to see you all at Soul Sundays. \nThe unique sound of vocalist Debra James Tucker is a product of extensive training in jazz\, classical and gospel music. Her new album is “Voices”\, which continues her exploration of early black church forms in contemporary contexts. After the release of a live EP and a studio album (1995’s Twister)\, Epic dropped the band. Many artists would have broken up at that moment\, but Watershed—owing to equal parts optimism and stubbornness—found a new drummer (Dave Masica) and kept plowing forward\, producing their best work\, including the albums The More it Hurts\, The More it Works; Fifth of July; and their most recent studio effort\, Blow it Up Before it Breaks. DESCRIPTION:America’Roots music superhero Deke Dickerson  is coming to town. \n“It’s a tough job\, but somebody’s got to do it\,” claims journeyman musician/singer/entertainer Deke Dickerson. As usual\, Dickerson adds dry wit to a serious proclamation of his career intent: keeping America’s roots music alive while interjecting new creativity—a blood transfusion\, if you will—into genres of music that flourished in decades previous. Such efforts have rewarded him with the Ameripolitan “Musician of the Year” award\, among other accolades. \nDeke Dickerson is 52 years old and has been carrying the torch since he was 13\, playing in his first rockabilly band in his hometown of Columbia\, Missouri. After moving to Los Angeles at the age of 22\, he carved out a niche for himself in Tinseltown. In addition to playing in his primary band\, Deke Dickerson and the Ecco-Fonics\, as well as his newest group\, Deke Dickerson and the Whippersnappers\, Dickerson has provided rootsy music for a slew of television shows and movie projects (including scoring the music for Johnny Knoxville’s Paramount Pictures film Action Point). \nDickerson was born in St. Louis\, Missouri. After playing in several local rockabilly bands\, Deke formed The Untamed Youth at age 17 in his hometown of Columbia\, Missouri. In 1991 he moved to Los Angeles and joined Dave Stuckey to form the Dave & Deke Combo\, a partnership that yielded two albums and a 2005 reunion at major rockabilly festivals. Joining the Ecco-Fonics in 1998\, Deke toured\, signed to HighTone Records and released three albums for the label. His style incorporates country\, alternative country\, rockabilly\, hillbilly\, blues\, western swing and rock ‘n’ roll \nDickerson writes a regular column in Guitar Player magazine and feature articles in Vintage Guitar magazine and The Fretboard Journal. He also organizes an annual “Guitar Geek Festival” held in Anaheim\, California\, every January\, during the NAMM Show. He owns a Ray Butts EchoSonic\, serial number 24\, a rare amplifier with built-in tape echo that used to belong to Scotty Moore. \nKyle Eldridge \n \nKyle Eldridge is a Country & Western singer songwriter from Louisville\, Kentucky and known as one of the most prominent guitar players in the traditional scene for his Maphis/ Travis picking and Western Jazz styling. \nHe got his start playing in the south where he met Upright Bassist Dakota Collins who brought him to Nashville\, Tennessee. They began playing Honky Tonks on the famous Broadway strip and soon after\, he recorded his debut EP in Los Angeles\, California at Deke Dickerson’s studio. \nHe has played next to such artists as Jim Heath of Reverend Horton Heat\, Shaun Young of High Noon\, Jody & Rose Lee Maphis\, The Lucky Stars\, Dale Watson and many more.  Dubbed the “Heir Apparent” by Larry Collins of The Collins Kids fame\, Kyle Eldridge has been burning his way into the Country & Western scene and has quickly become in demand both domestically and abroad. She wouldn’t either. \nFor this Happening Hour on Charlie’s Stage\, she has hand-picked two of Columbus’s most absurdly talented musicians to join her and French Blues playing husband Pascal Fouquet for an evening of Retro Modern Blues that nobody planned and everybody needed. Every one of these shows is its own living\, breathing\, unrepeatable thing — same songs\, different magic\, zero guarantees except that you will feel good. \nAnd the best part? It’s completely FREE. \nThat said\, four world-class musicians walked in the door tonight and they all have rent due. If the groove moves you — and it will — tips are how we keep the lights on\, the music coming and the Rooster fed. \nJen “Lil’ Red” Milligan — Born in Columbus\, Ohio with a hairbrush for a microphone and absolutely zero chill. Decided at age 6 that singing in the church choir wasn’t enough and has been causing beautiful trouble ever since. Survived Broadway\, Europe\, a broken voice\, grad school in Boulder where she rolled around on the floor making strange noises for a Master’s degree\, and a serendipitous detour to France where she fell into a jazz club and never fully came back out. Somewhere between Hair\, Jesus Christ Superstar\, Rocky Horror\, a rock band called The Sex Slaves\, martial arts\, jazz dance with a legend named Luigi\, and a washboard — she found the Blues. The Blues was waiting. It knew. International Blues Challenge Finalist. Global Music Awards bronze medal winner. Certified bone-tremblin’ force of nature. Will invite you into her heart and then give you a piece of her mind. You will thank her for it. \nPascal Fouquet — A child in Normandy picked up a guitar at eleven. Then B.B. King reached his ears and the classical guitar didn’t stand a chance. Has been one of the most decorated Blues guitarists in France for decades\, which the French take very seriously\, and so should you. Crossed the Atlantic\, married Lil’ Red\, immigrated to Columbus\, Ohio — a series of excellent decisions. His story is in his playing. If you want more than that\, catch him with a whiskey or espresso and he’ll tell you face to face. That’s how the Rooster rolls. \nReggie Jackson — Ohio State Jazz Studies graduate who apparently looked at his degree and thought “cute\, but not enough.” Proceeded to spend 11 years on the road with jazz legend Diane Schuur\, tour with Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee Dr. John\, appear on The Tonight Show\, play in 25 countries\, join Bobby Floyd’s trio AND the Columbus Jazz Orchestra\, and perform alongside Arturo Sandoval\, Terence Blanchard\, Dee Dee Bridgewater and a frankly unreasonable number of legends. Shows up to a Happening Hour on a Wednesday like it’s nothing. It is not nothing. We see you Reggie. \nJeff Ciampa — Founded the Hoodoo Soul Band in 1995 which makes him basically Columbus Blues royalty. Has been the first call for pretty much every serious musician in this city for thirty years. His bass lines don’t just hold down the groove — they own it\, pay the mortgage on it and have the deed framed on the wall. Shows up. Delivers. Every time.
