SUMMARY:Hoodoo Soul Band (Late Show)
DESCRIPTION:Hoodoo Soul Band\, presented by The Rumba Café\, continues their weekly residency in the Outdoor Pavilion at Natalie’s Grandview with two shows every Sunday. Due to COVID-19\, tables will be sold instead of individual seats\, and guests are required to wear masks when not seated. Hoodoo Soul Band began as a side project for several seasoned veterans of the Columbus music scene who wanted an outlet to play Funk and Rhythm and Blues with a horn section. In January of 1995\, these players started a weekly residency at Oldfield’s on High (now under a new name) and it quickly became the “place to be” for Columbus\, Ohio music scene junkies. In 2008\, the group found a new home for their residency at Rumba Cafe on Summit Street and the crowd followed. Due to the COVID pandemic\, Natalie’s is hosting the shows until the Rumba is reopened for live music. \nPrimarily a cover band\, Hoodoo is known for curating a unique setlist while giving each song its own original treatment. The players effectively turn soul songs into standards which they deconstruct on the fly\, improvising new arrangements in front of the crowd\, and introducing audiences to funky\, unfamiliar gems that quickly become crowd favorites. Most of the group is still made up of the original members but new blood has been introduced over the years. At any given show the line up may change with only the very best players in the city subbing in. The focus is music and the standards are high. Hoodoo Soul has also been direct support for world-class acts passing through Columbus such as Parliament and Ray Charles among many others. \n\nHoodoo Circle:\nEach circle is a designated zone for you and 5 other friends to dance and Hoodoo the night away. No seats\, standing (and dancing) room only\, with a table for your food and drinks. \n*Each ticket admits up to 6 people

SUMMARY:Chaz & Nicki (Full Band)
DESCRIPTION:Chaz and Nicki and their band will perform at the new Outdoor Pavilion at Natalie’s Grandview for a show that mixes feel-good classic covers with harmony-rich originals. Singer and guitarist Chaz Mechenbier has been performing locally\, nationally\, and internationally for decades with well-known acts such as Jerry Reed\, Ronnie Milsap\, and local favorites Phil Dirt and the Dozers. Singer/Guitarist/Uke player Nicki Baker is a third-generation musician from Columbus who grew up on a tour bus\, singing southern gospel with her family. She’s appeared with Columbus super-groups Sirens and Popgun. The group is in high demand and performs several times weekly at various venues\, festivals\, and events around Ohio. \nChaz and Nicki met in 2015 and quickly started writing songs. The natural next step was a trip to Nashville to record songs for their album\, First of All with a Grammy-winning producer and the best musicians Nashville has to offer. They are currently working on their sophomore album as they continue to tour Columbus and surrounding cities. \nLive Stream:\n\n\nChaz & Nicki present a live streaming concert from the outdoor stage at Natalie’s Grandview that can be viewed from the comfort of your own home. Order your ticket from our ticketing link and you will receive an email confirmation with a link to the stream as well as a discount code to receive 20% off an online or carryout order at any Natalie’s location. Further donations to the band can be made by clicking on our ticketing link or through our PayPal link: PayPal.me/NataliesColumbus. Please consider making a donation to help compensate the band and the video live stream production costs.\n\n\n*Please note that the live stream ticket does not include admission to the show in person.

SUMMARY:Mery Steel
DESCRIPTION:Natalie’s Grandview presents a special “Pop-Up” concert in the Outdoor Pavilion (with socially distanced table seating) with the amazing talents of Mery Steel and special guest Caroline Louise (Souther/WYD) each performing solo sets. For this event\, donations will be accepted and appreciated at the door. \nAfter riding a ten-year train of monogamous\, cohabiting romantic relationships\, Mery Steel needed a way to navigate the freedom and uncertainty of single life. She hashes and rehashes her thoughts and feelings about friendship\, loss and modern romance through songs written in frank and loving terms. With one eye on toxic intimacy\, Mery Steel exalts lust\, releases shame and celebrates growth through self-love. \n \nDelivered with striking conviction\, Caroline Louise’s lyrics bow to the weight of her experience. After establishing a name for herself as lead singer and guitarist of Columbus’ own Souther in 2016\, Louise also formed the electro/folk trio WYD\, in which she explores a more intimate approach to songcraft\, marrying the analog with the digital under tender vocal work and calculated\, dynamic arrangements. For Caroline\, music has always been both cause and effect\, carrying her ever deeper into the danger from which it’s never faltered as refuge.

SUMMARY:Ray Charles Birthday Celebration CANCELLED
DESCRIPTION:Natalie’s Grandview\, with socially distanced table seating\, presents a very special tribute to the music of Ray Charles\, featuring Roger Hines and a full band of talented musicians. Roger began his association with Ray Charles in 1980 when he began six years of full time recording and touring the world exclusively as bassist to Ray Charles. This show will be held in the Outdoor Pavilion (featuring socially distanced tables) at Natalie’s Grandview. \n“Traveling with Ray taught me how to make music the most important part of my day.” says Hines. “I remember playing 6 or 7 nights a week in a different city and many times a different country and being exhausted but always getting energized each night playing music that was honest\, intense\, and full of emotions.” \nSuch musical inspiration as well as his close personal relationship with “the Genius of Soul” was the impetus for his formation of a band which celebrates the soul\, spirit\, and genius of Ray Charles. Featured in the group are Hines on bass\, Vernon Hairston\, piano and vocals; James\, “Smooth” Elliot on drums\, Jon Eshelman on piano\, Randy Mather on saxophone\, Dwight Adams on trumpet\, and “Raelettes” Debra James Tucker\, Tia Harris Roseboro\, and Vicki Saunders.

SUMMARY:Angela Perley: Harvest Moon Concert (Early Show)
DESCRIPTION:Angela Perley appears for a special “Harvest Moon” show at the new Outdoor Pavilion at Natalie’s Grandview! “Angela Perley has been gigging nonstop with her band The Howlin’ Moons since they released their debut album in 2014\, laying down an interesting mix of folk\, Americana\, and ’60s-tinged psychedelic rock that floats seamlessly between Bob Dylan and Procol Harum\, sometimes within the same song.”— No Depression \nAll of this led up to Perley’s latest LP\, ‘4:30’ (released Aug. 2\, 2019)\, her first solo effort which she co-produced with longtime guitarist and collaborator\, Chris Connor. Her third full-length record illustrates the songwriter’s knack for deft storytelling\, warm vocal layers\, and disarming melodies that beget personal growth and mobility\, surging from raw and far-sighted pathos. Billboard says\, “The set’s 12 songs run the gamut from psychedelic garage rock to melodic pop and heartfelt country and Americana” and Perley’s character-driven love songs on ‘4:30’ are surreal in their ability to master genre-fluidity\, with forthright storytelling\, wry lyricism and a host of dreamy instrumentation. \nPerley has opened for Willie Nelson\, Lucinda Williams\, Tyler Childers\, CAAMP\, O.A.R\, and Blues Traveller and continues her musical journey one record and show at a time.

SUMMARY:Hoodoo Soul Band (Early Show)
DESCRIPTION:Hoodoo Soul Band\, presented by The Rumba Café\, continues their weekly residency in the Outdoor Pavilion at Natalie’s Grandview with two shows every Sunday. Due to the COVID pandemic\, Natalie’s is hosting the shows until the Rumba is reopened for live music.\n\nPrimarily a cover band\, Hoodoo is known for curating a unique setlist while giving each song its own original treatment. Hoodoo Soul has also been direct support for world-class acts passing through Columbus such as Parliament and Ray Charles among many others.\n\n\nHoodoo Circle:\nEach circle is a designated zone for you and 5 other friends to dance and Hoodoo the night away! No seats\, standing (and dancing) room only\, with a table for your food and drinks. \n*Each ticket admits up to 6 people

SUMMARY:John Schwab and Hadden Sayers (Acoustic Duo): Pop Up Concert
DESCRIPTION:Please Note: All Natalie’s shows have socially distanced table seating\, and face masks are required unless seated at tables. \nNatalie’s presents a special “pop-up” concert featuring an acoustic evening of music with John Schwab and Hadden Sayers\, two outstanding musicians who will share the stage\, stories\, and songs. \nFor over 35 years\, John Schwab has been playing solo gigs and performing with The John Schwab Party Band\, plus doing 40 or so concerts a year as lead singer for the legendary McGuffey Lane. Somehow he also finds time to own and operate John Schwab Recording\, the premier original music production studio in Columbus. Between his record label\, jingle production company\, and booking agency\, the main thing he likes to do is sing and play the guitar! \nBorn in Nacogdoches and raised on a steady diet of Texas Roots and Blues music\, Hadden Sayers has become a Blues Rock Master. Millions of miles of touring the world and 9 albums in\, Sayer’s rise has been anything but meteoric. It’s been a consistent and steady ascent to a level of expertise that few achieve. Dopamine Machine\, his latest album\, is the next level..11 songs performed in both full band and solo acoustic arrangements..proving that Sayer’s songwriting stands up to reinterpretation and begs for more!

SUMMARY:Linden Hollow & The Devil Doves: Double Album Release Party! (Early Show)
DESCRIPTION:Linden Hollow and The Devil Doves have been close friends and collaborators for a long time\, and it only seems fitting that they team up to celebrate the release of their albums that have been years in the making. Linden Hollow will open for The Devil Doves during the early show and The Devil Doves will open for Linden Hollow for the late show to keep things fair and square. 😉 They have some surprises in store for both shows and are so grateful to have Natalie’s and an October crescent moon as a backdrop for a spooky celebration. They want you to feel the music in your bones! \nLinden Hollow’s songs span from haunting piano rock to earthy acoustic folk. Featuring the sometimes powerful and gritty\, sometimes crystalline vocals of Rebecca McCusker\, with Paige Vandiver’s harmonies\, the lyrics transport listeners to dusty railroads\, autumn forest-scapes\, and the witch trials of Salem. Linden Hollow’s multi-instrumental arrangements have Emily Ng on bass\, viola\, and musical saw\, while Rebecca alternates between heavy guitar and wistful piano for an ever-evolving sound that stays true to the gut-feel of the music. \nThe Devil Doves are a Columbus-based “Clusterfolk” band whose high-energy performances and clever\, insightful songwriting has been surprising and delighting audiences of all ages. Featuring Junior Kauffman on lead vocals and guitar and Kyle “Headband” Davis on the cajon\, Rev. Rico “Thunderstorm” Nassau and Jeff “Pretty Fingers” Straw round out the quartet\, adding angelic harmonies to the rough-and-tumble musical skeleton.

Caroline will kick off the evening with a solo show\, followed by Lindsay Jordan with a full band\, featuring Caroline on lead guitar\, Maddy Ciampa on bass\, West Taylor on rhythm guitar\, and Paige Vandiver on drums. \nDelivered with striking conviction\, Caroline Louise’s lyrics bow to the weight of her experience. After establishing a name for herself as lead singer and guitarist of Columbus’ own Souther in 2016\, Caroline also formed the electro/folk trio WYD\, in which she explores a more intimate approach to songcraft\, marrying the analog with the digital under tender vocal work and calculated dynamic arrangements. For her\, music has always been both cause and effect\, carrying her ever deeper into the danger from which it’s never faltered as refuge. \nLindsay Jordan throws a cold glass of water over your head with her genre-bending anthems that explore the truths of her West Virginia roots with torching humor and no hint of bullshit. Her music is as brutally honest as it is hauntingly catchy\, proving she’s mastered the soul of new American folklore. Bartending since she was 15\, self-proclaimed ‘River Road Trash’\, Jordan is a natural storyteller\, whose upbeat melodies provide a searing portrait of modern Appalachia.

SUMMARY:Hoodoo Soul Band
Due to the COVID pandemic\, Natalie’s is hosting the shows until the Rumba is reopened for live music.\n\nPrimarily a cover band\, Hoodoo is known for curating a unique setlist while giving each song its own original treatment.

SUMMARY:The Drowsy Lads
DESCRIPTION:The Drowsy Lads will perform at the Outdoor Pavilion (featuring socially distanced tables) a Natalie’s Grandview location. The Lads thundered onto the Irish music scene in the US over 15 years ago and have become fan favorites at every turn. Sticking to traditional roots the Lads bring a fire and excitement that is quickly winning over audiences.  With the release of their 4th album\, Everyone In\, and the notable camaraderie and genuineness that flows from their live performances\, the future continues to look bright for these Lads. Ohio brothers John and Daniel McKewen\, father and son Phil and Josh Franck\, and lifelong friend Bryan Brookes bring to the stage a concoction of “we dare you to hold still” Irish dance tunes as well as a full emotional gamut of songs and good humor. Their authentic approach and deep enjoyment of people is a refreshing surprise to both casual music-lovers and those steeped in hardcore Trad. \nBesides packing out theaters\, concert halls\, clubs\, and pubs\, the Lads are lighting up Irish festivals including Milwaukee\, Dublin\, Dayton\, Cincinnati\, Indianapolis\, and Louisville. They were also featured at Lakeside Ohio’s Chautauqua series for four years\, the beautiful Murphy theater for three\, and were guest artists with the Otterbein University Orchestra. \nEach Lad is a multi-instrumentalist\, and the combined lineup includes fiddle\, button accordion\, tenor banjo\, flute\, whistle\, guitar\, bouzouki\, Uilleann pipes\, 5-string banjo\, concertina\, and bodhran. The Lads are fond of creating their own spirited arrangements and offering occasional original compositions\, even mixing in some bits of Bluegrass or Classical. But these never get in the way of their obsession with the pure old Irish tunes\, songs\, wit\, and friendship that has defined Irish music for centuries.

SUMMARY:Sideline
DESCRIPTION:Sideline is a pedigreed six-piece powerhouse whose style has set the pace in Bluegrass for over two decades. Founders Steve Dilling\, Skip Cherryholmes and Jason Moore can all claim their own historical significance to the genre as members of highly-awarded groups\, multiple Grand Ole Opry appearances\, and years of national and international touring. What started as a side project for the seasoned players soon moved to the front and center as the three were joined by talents of Bailey Coe; guitar\, Troy Boone; mandolin\, and Daniel Greeson; fiddle\, and began to record and release albums in earnest. \nThe band\, recorded or live\, move dynamically from well-chosen\, hard-hitting neo-traditional covers of classic songs to new material curated by a band with a perfect sense of who they are and what they have to say. Combine all this with their on-stage energy and finesse as well as their powerful and affecting harmonies\, and you have the embodiment of the North Carolina Bluegrass sound. Sideline has released 3 national projects and currently records for the highly awarded Mountain Home Music Company based near Asheville\, NC. \nTickets:\n2-top: Ticket for two people \n4-top: Ticket for four people
