Gardener + Spirit of the Bear + Zack Keim
Presented by Spoonful Records
Hailing from Yellow Springs, OH, Gardener is a close-knit group of old friends. Their music paints vivid sonic landscapes, blending raw Americana with dreamy, country-tinged indie rock. Inspired by the decay and beauty of their home in Ohio’s Rust Belt, Gardener’s songs embody both raw, volatile energy and intimate, meditative moments – creating a distinct sound that’s entirely their own. Their most recent full-length was produced by Taylor Meier of CAAMP.
Spirit of the Bear quickly became one of the most fresh and exciting bands to emerge in the Ohio music scene with their unique blend of indie rock, pop, and electronic sensibilities coupled with their affinity for pop song writing. The band’s years of musical experience are accentuated by their use of two keyboard players, bringing a unique depth to their sound. Consisting of James Harker (lead vocals, guitar), Danny Svenson (keyboards), Ethan Schwendeman (keyboards), Nate Gelfand (Bass), and Jamie Vitullo (Drums), the band has shared the stage with acts such as Crowded House, Our Lady Peace, Ra Ra Riot, and Robert DeLong, among others. The members of Spirit of the Bear have 3 dogs and 5 cats, collectively.
His second solo album, titled “Battery Lane” is out now via Evan Westfall of Caamp’s indie label Super Sport Records. Named after the street where Keim lived during his time in the DC area, the album reflects the people and places that inspired this chapter of his songwriting. From 2025 to 2026, he toured extensively throughout the US/Europe/and UK. Keim’s powerful live performances have led him to play SXSW and share the stage with renowned artists such as Peter Case (The Nerves/Plimsouls), indie icon Calvin Johnson (Beat Happening/founder of K Records), and acclaimed singer-songwriter Matt Costa. His standout single, “Better Days,” has received praise from Sirius XMU calling it “a fun, fuzzy, classic.”
