Adam Schlenker Album Release
featuring Appalachian Swing
Adam Schlenker celebrates the release of his brand-new album All Roads Lead to Home with this special performance that also will feature Appalachian Swing. 2024 marks 40 years of guitar exploration for Adam so he decided to commemorate it with an album that expresses both his acoustic and electric guitar playing for the first time. This collection of 11 songs blends his songwriting with traditional tunes that inspired him along the way. Joining Adam on this project is Tony McClung on drums and Chase Potter on electric and fiddle.
“I have always felt that it takes both a dreadnought and a telecaster for me to fully express myself musically. The acoustic guitar seems to reflect my inner voice and sense of self, but the electric guitar allows me to express the emotion of the music more completely. For this project I attempted to combine these aspects of my personality to achieve the sound of the album and allow the listener to get to know me better”
Appalachian Swing was formed in 2021, the result of a monthly series of Americana shows at Natalie’s performed by Adam, Hayes Griffith, Todd Sams and George Welling. One such show featured the music of the Kentucky Colonels, a short-lived but highly influential southern California bluegrass band led by brothers Roland and Clarence White.
Taking its name from the Kentucky Colonels’ landmark second album, Appalachian Swing took a somewhat unusual approach to repertoire by deciding to focus almost exclusively on the music of the Colonels, as well as various auxiliary projects by the White brothers.
