  • This event has passed.

Natalie’s, with support from the Columbus Blues Alliance (CBA), presents Bourbon & Blues Happy Hour featuring Deuce ‘n a Quarter. This monthly series, held on the second Wednesday of each month, will include a special guest for each show, and there will be rotating bourbon and other happy hour specials as well!

Doug Hart

In April, Deuce ‘n a Quarter welcome special guest Doug Hart – a great frontman and guitarist that hails from Dayton, Ohio. He started playing music at an early age, developing a love and appreciation for rock and roll, then eventually falling in love with the blues. Over the years he played in various cover bands throughout southwest Ohio before starting and fronting his band, The Doug Hart Band, in 1998.

The Doug Hart Band earned their respect the hard way, playing in basements, crawl spaces, and outhouses throughout the area, and has become a staple of the southwest Ohio blues scene. Doug’s relentless touring schedule keeps him busy gigging throughout the area – whether it’s hosting a Sunday blues jam, a weeknight solo acoustic show, or a festival headlining set with his band, he just keeps doing it.

Doug has earned the right to compete in The International Blues Challenge in Memphis, TN four times, advancing to the semifinal round twice. This is where Doug has been able to get acquainted with people in the industry, allowing him opportunities to play famous venues like Stevie Ray’s Blues Bar in Louisville, KY, Buddy Guy’s Legends in Chicago, and Memphis Beale St. clubs like BB King’s. When Doug Hart takes the stage, you are in for a treat!

Deuce n a Quarter is a celebrated central Ohio based blues band comprised of Andre Scott (drums), Martin O. Brown (bass & vocals), Keven Jones (keyboard), Keith Colbert (guitar) and Brian Peters (lead vocals & harmonica). The band and its members have a list of credits as performing artists and studio musicians. They are two-time Ohio Music Award winners, two-time Columbus Blues Challenge winners and two-time International Blues Challenge finalist. The band’s forte is its original, blues-based music where you’ll hear the influence of blues, country, soul, and gospel. They have a long list of noteworthy performances at festivals, night clubs and music venues…  where they’re always the crowd favorite.

The Columbus Blues Alliance (CBA) is a non-profit organization founded to help preserve and nurture blues music and is an affiliate of the Blues Foundation in Memphis. They are an ALL-volunteer corporation depending on the generosity and charity of members to donate their time and energy towards providing programs to support musicians.
