E-Flat ft Najoura: Soul Sunday

Soul Sunday, hosted by Debra James Tucker continues with E-Flat, featuring vocalist Najoura! E-Flat was formed in 2013 by founder and bandleader David Dennis. E-Flat features some of the best musicians in Central Ohio. The members consist of David Dennis (Saxophone), Aaron Thomas (Bass Guitar), Charles Small (Keyboard) and Robert Riley (Drums).  E-Flat has received several awards for their outstanding musicianship.  The band received the Kingdom Image Award Small Group of the year in 2020, 2023 and the WeddingRule 2022 Editor’s Choice Award.

Najoura is a multi-talented artist and vocalist from Columbus whose unique musical style and smooth vocals have made her a standout force in the world of R&B. For Najoura, music is more than just a composition. It’s a form of therapy that allows her to express herself authentically. She hopes to extend that outlet of self-expression and self-discovery to her listeners. With the release of her debut single “Get Away,” listeners are taken on a journey through the complexities of love, enveloping them in her signature sound. As she continues to gain momentum, Najoura hopes to leave her mark through her artistry.

The unique sound of vocalist Debra James Tucker is a product of extensive training in jazz, classical and gospel music. Her new album is “Voices”, which continues her exploration of early black church forms in contemporary contexts. She is the writer/performer of the one woman show Survival of the Boulevard Singer—winner of an Ohio Arts Council Award for Individual Excellence, has been a visiting instructor at Denison University in the history of African American Gospel Music, and an artist in residence with several youth arts organizations.
