Hosted by Debra James Tucker

  • This event has passed.

The Gospel Soul Series, hosted by Debra James Tucker on the first Sunday of each month, continues at Natalie’s with special guest, Gabrielle Solange.

Gabrielle Solange is an international touring singer, songwriter, and producer known for her dynamic vocals, creative storytelling, and vulnerable performances. Previously part of the Top 200 Billboard-charting band, Fatty Koo, she emerged onto the music scene as an independent solo artist after over a decade hiatus with an incredible story to tell. Tonight, you will experience elements of her inspiring journey to faith through an eclectic musical set blending nostalgic and modern gospel hits with never-before-heard originals and a few surprise guests!

This year, she sang the national anthem for the opening match of the US Major League Soccer champions, The Columbus Crew; and the world famous baseball phenomenon, The Savannah Bananas. She has also shared the stage with incredible talents such as Musiq Soul Child and Keyshia Cole. Beyond her music, Gabrielle is a compelling speaker and passionate advocate for mental health and suicide prevention in the Black community for the Ohio Suicide Prevention Foundation. Last year she was an opening speaker for actor and author, Henry Winkler. She is also a vocal coach beloved by up-and-coming singers throughout Ohio and the US, and she also partners with schools, ministries, and organizations hosting trauma-informed creative workshops through her company, RunSong Productions, and non-profit, RunSong Generation.

The unique sound of vocalist Debra James Tucker is a product of extensive training in jazz, classical and gospel music. She is the writer/performer of the one woman show Survival of the Boulevard Singer—winner of an Ohio Arts Council Award for Individual Excellence, has been a visiting instructor at Denison University in the history of African American Gospel Music, and an artist in residence with several youth arts organizations.
