The Soul Sunday series hosted by Debra James Tucker continues at Natalie’s Grandview with a December residency starring Jermaine Smith and Vamp Village Band. This show will also feature the talents of Jaid and Elysian.
Jermaine Smith is an accomplished executive producer, visionary, and entrepreneur with a deep passion for music, entertainment, and creating unforgettable live experiences. Driven by his love for live music and his desire to support local talent, Jermaine’s work is marked by a dedication to fostering community and showcasing artistry at its finest.
Jaid is a dynamic singer and performer who draws inspiration from the deep, soulful sounds of icons like Nina Simone, Erykah Badu, and Jill Scott, Jaid’s music blends rich melodies with heartfelt lyrics. With her engaging stage presence and a touch of hosting experience, Jaid is a rising star, ready to share her unique voice and gifts with the world.
Elysian, is a Divinely inspired artist who has collaborated with local, national, and international artist as a background vocalist, writer, and arranger. With a versatile sound he delivers a smooth yet captivating soulful presence of love and light with vocal expressions cultivated by jazz, R&B, Neo-Soul, and Gospel music.
The unique sound of vocalist Debra James Tucker is a product of extensive training in jazz, classical and gospel music. Her new album is “Voices”, which continues her exploration of early black church forms in contemporary contexts. She is the writer/performer of the one woman show Survival of the Boulevard Singer-winner of an Ohio Arts Council Award for Individual Excellence, has been a visiting instructor at Denison University in the history of African American Gospel Music, and an artist in residence with several youth arts organizations.
