Phil Clark & The SOUL

Phil Clark & the SOUL combines r&b, blues, rock, gospel and jazz in an infectious sound that is impossible to deny. Drawing from early Ray Charles tunes such as “You Don’t Know Me,” “Georgia” and “Drown in My Own Tears”, blue-eyed soul singer Phil Clark (vocals, harp, sax) shows what it’s really like to be the son of a preacher. Bridging his gospel roots with the blues is his calling card.

Dave DeWitt’s brilliant piano and organ strokes bring tunes like Dr John’s “Right Place, Wrong Time” and Billy Preston’s “Will It Go ‘Round in Circles” to dizzying heights. Central Ohio’s blues guitar legend John Boerstler can make you cry with “Rainy Night in Georgia” or make you beg for more with Joe Cocker’s “Leave Your Hat On.” Bassist Jeff Ciampa and drummer Aaron Scott round out this cast of veteran players that surely will not disappoint.
