Popgun/Hoodoo Soul Band/Tom Krouse Band

Come shake it with a celebration of Columbus’ most happening party bands! Hoo Doo Soul Band! Popgun! Tom Krouse Band! The biggest party to cap off your summer. Plus, we’ll be telling stories of Columbus’ wild music history with Hoodoo, Popgun, etc. This show will sell out fast, so don’t get left out. Hoodoo began as a side project for several seasoned veterans of the Columbus music scene who wanted an outlet to play Funk and Rhythm and Blues with a horn section. Primarily a cover band, Hoodoo is known for curating a unique set list while giving each song their own original treatment. The players effectively turn soul songs into standards which they deconstruct on the fly, improvising new arrangements in front of the crowd, and introducing audiences to funky, unfamiliar gems that quickly become crowd favorites. Most of the group is still made up of the original members but new blood has been introduced over the years. At any given show the line-up may change with only the very best players in the city subbing in. The focus is music and the standards are high. Hoodoo Soul has also been direct support for world-class acts passing through Columbus such as Parliament and Ray Charles among many others.

Popgun is a “super-group” consisting of some of the finest musicians in the Central Ohio area. They present their interpretations of a wide variety of tunes from David Bowie, Paul McCartney, Steely Dan and much more, especially 80’s music for these special Prom shows! Members of the group also perform with other outstanding bands from the area including Doc Robinson, Hoodoo Soul Band, the Floorwalkers and Hebdo. Band members are Jonathan Elliott (vocals), Joey Hebdo (vocals/guitar), Dennis Hodges (guitar), Tony McClung (drums), Jeff Ciampa (bass/vocals), Lucas Holmes (keyboards) and Kevin O’Neill (saxophone/vocals).

Tom Krouse Band is an American rock and roll band with a strong rhythm and blues influence.  Big sounds and fun tunes come from this collection of some of Columbus’ finest musicians including Jesse Henry, George Barrie, Amber Knicole, Jeff Ciampa, Tony Gayle McClung, Alex Estrada, Ryan Paradise, Michael Cox, David Sykes, and Chad Louridge. The show will feature music from the band’s last two records, Layered Legacy and Love Fly Free as well as other fun, danceable covers.
