The Cyrkle!

The Cyrkle is an active American rock band from the early to late 1960s. The group charted two signature Top 40 hit songs, “Red Rubber Ball” and “Turn Down Day.” They were discovered and managed by Brian Epstein, who was best known as the manager of The Beatles. Epstein had John Lennon rename the band, calling them The Cyrkle.  Lennon not only provided the name but also its unique spelling.

In the summer of 1966, The Cyrkle opened on 14 dates for the Beatles during their U.S. tour. This included performances in Shea Stadium in New York City, Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles, and Candlestick Park in San Francisco (August 29, 1966), the last ticketed event that The Beatles ever performed.

The Cyrkle disbanded in 1968, but in 2016, a reformed lineup, featuring original members Don Dannemann and Michael Losekamp, along with Dean Kastran (founding member of The Ohio Express), Pat McLoughlin, Don White, and Scott Langley, performed for the first time to a live audience for the filming of a promotional video and to record a live album (Full Cyrkle) in November 2016. They performed professionally for the first time in five decades and began touring nationally, typically appearing with other classic rock contemporaries from the 1960s music era. As of 2025, they continue to perform across the US.

The group’s 2024 album, Revival, was released by Big Stir Records of Los Angeles, California. It features “We Were There,” “We Thought We Could Fly,” and their current hit song, “Dance With Me Tonight.”
