Returning home from his first tour with The World Famous Glenn Miller Orchestra, Saxophonist and Columbus native Devin Coons gets back to his roots for a night of swinging organ jazz. He will be joined by The Organization, an organ trio working in and around the Philadelphia area which is composed of longtime collaborators and fellow Temple University graduates Josh Klamka on Organ, Jake Miller on Guitar, and Greg Masters on the Drums and Cymbals. Join us for this special homecoming and renewed collaboration of Devin Coons and The Organization.
The unique sound of vocalist Debra James Tucker is a product of extensive training in jazz, classical and gospel music. Her new album is “Voices”, which continues her exploration of early black church forms in contemporary contexts. She is the writer/performer of the one woman show Survival of the Boulevard Singer-winner of an Ohio Arts Council Award for Individual Excellence, has been a visiting instructor at Denison University in the history of African American Gospel Music, and an artist in residence with several youth arts organizations.
