Hosted by Debra James Tucker
- This event has passed.
The Gospel Soul Series, hosted by Debra James Tucker, continues with Teresca Showell, a dynamic worship leader, speaker, and vocal artist whose anointed sound and transformative message shift atmospheres and awaken purpose. With more than 30 years of ministry, her powerful voice and authentic delivery have positioned her as a sought-after Praise and Worship leader on national and international platforms, including The Word Network, TBN, Natalie’s Gospel Brunch, The Lincoln Theatre Artist Series, and the Canada Glass Awards.
A native of Cleveland, Ohio, Teresca has shared the stage with gospel luminaries such as Donald Lawrence, JJ Hairston, and Kierra Sheard. She released her debut EP Revive Us in 2016 and is a two-time Kingdom Image Award recipient, honored as Female Vocalist of the Year and Best Small Group Performance.
Beyond the stage, Teresca is a respected healthcare executive and doctoral scholar with degrees from The Ohio State University, Ohio University, and Franklin University, where she is currently pursuing her PhD. A 20-year member of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc., she also serves as Minister of Music at The City of Zion Church. Devoted wife to Derrick L. Showell and mother of six, Teresca remains steadfast in her mission to glorify God by leading others into life-changing encounters through sound, worship, and word.
This monthly series is hosted and coordinated by Debra James Tucker, who has received extensive training in jazz, classical and gospel music. She is the writer/performer of the one woman show Survival of the Boulevard Singer—winner of an Ohio Arts Council Award for Individual Excellence, has been visiting instructor at Denison University in the history of African American Gospel Music, and an artist in residence with several youth arts organizations.
