Lil’ Red & the Rooster with Dave Specter
It’s clear Lil’ Red has excellent taste, and this time she’s bringing you a guitar lover’s feast. Dave Specter and Pascal Fouquet first shared a stage together in 2018 at the Bay-Car Blues Festival in France, in a set Soul Bag magazine called the finest guitar playing of the festival: “admirably constructed, distilled with taste, free of bravado. Great artistry.” Two guitarists born under the same moon, Dave in Chicago & Pascal in Normandy. Now that pairing returns just for you, live at Natalie’s. Of course, you also get Lil’ Red’s charming smile, spicy, smokey vocals and biting humor. It’ll be a night to remember!
Dave Specter
A 40-year veteran of the Chicago music scene, Specter recently released his 14th album on Delmark Records — a unique voice in blues guitar with a signature style all his own. Downbeat calls him “one of the few top-tier guitarists,” and the Chicago Sun-Times names him “a global ambassador of Chicago blues.”
Lil’ Red & The Rooster
“His playing is the slow burn to Lil’ Red’s flickering flame, and together they create a dynamic that is impossible to fake.” — Modern Mystery
A deep calling led them both to the Blues, and the Blues brought Lil’ Red (Jennifer Milligan) and Pascal Fouquet together in 2010. They’ve been living and breathing their music ever since—Retro Modern Blues—intimately real, at times hilarious, and always coming from love and respect for humanity and the Blues. International Blues Challenge finalists (2019) and featured on PBS’s Songs at the Center, they’ve released “Soul Burnin'” (2017) featuring Dave Specter, “Keep On!” (2022) with Billy Branch, Kenny Smith & Felton Crews, and “7” (2025) featuring Bobby Floyd. Catch them at Buddy Guy’s Legends, on festival stages, or on their weekly live streams—because for them, it’s all about the music, it’s all about the shuffle, it’s all about the Blues.
“A deeply satisfying journey that feels both rooted in tradition and daring enough to stretch beyond it.” — Blues Matters
