Parker MacDonell, David Sheils, Keith Larsen: An Evening of Songs & Stories

Natalie’s invites you to a special evening of original music by three older but wiser singer/songwriters.  This show reunites David Sheils and Parker MacDonell, who wrote, recorded, and performed together in Los Angeles from 1977 through 1985.  Come to this show if only to hear David Sheils tell his version of the story of the first time he and Parker performed together as Chuck Berry’s backup band.  They are joined by top Columbus songwriter Keith Larsen.

Parker MacDonell has been using his original songs, voice and acoustic guitar to communicate with audiences for years and has made Columbus home since 1987.  A veteran of the Los Angeles club scene and college student unions across the United States, Parker has released four recordings: Miracle on Broad Street with Matt Munhall (2017), The Present Tense (2012), Looking For You (1985) and Home to the Heart (1983).

David Sheils is based in San Diego, where he performs with his James Taylor tribute band, Never Die Young.  He is a prolific songwriter and artist who has performed with various artists, including Chicago, Toto, Mary Travers, Tower of Power, Billy Vera, Chuck Berry, Bo Diddley and Pat Benatar, and has written songs for Billy Preston and Freda Payne. He will be performing his original material at this show.

Keith Larsen was selected twice to the Songwriter’s Serenade, finishing as a finalist and semi-finalist.  His song “Hold On,” won the People’s Choice Award in the Nashville Songwriters Association International/Country Music Television songwriting competition. He headlined a solo concert at the prestigious Blue Rock Artist Ranch and Studio in Texas and has also performed on Songs at the Center, a TV show that appears over 300 PBS stations.
